This game is essentially a dead rubber from Los Angeles, as the USA have already been confirmed as Group D winners, and Turkey have been eliminated after losing their opening two fixtures.

Maurico Pochettino will have to balance maintaining momentum with resting his key stars ahead of the knockout stages, but on the other hand, no USA side has ever won all three of their group games at a World Cup.

I expect some rotation in the starting XI, but even a rotated USA side should prevail here and create history in LA.

As mentioned above, I’m expecting a rotated side from Pochettino, which should see PSV Eindhoven’s Ricardo Pepi given a chance.

Christian Pulisic, who’s struggled with injury, and Folarin Balogun, are set to be rested, so Pepi will likely be given the nod up top or on the wing.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a breakout season in the Eredivisie, notching 16 goals for PSV, so I’m backing him to make an impact against Turkey and register at least two shots on target.

I believe that Kenan Yildiz can give the Turkey fans something to celebrate in Los Angeles.

The Juventus winger will be disappointed that he hasn’t impacted this tournament as he’d have hoped, after his 10 Serie A goals last term.

The 21-year-old has had 12 attempts on goal in the 135 minutes he’s played so far at this World Cup, so let’s back him to finally make his mark here.
