PBKS vs RCB Prediction: Kings set to bow before Kohli

Royal Challengers Bengaluru's IPL title defence moves to Dharamshala on Sunday for a crunch clash with last year's beaten finalists Punjab Kings on Sunday (11:00 BST, Sky Sports Cricket). RCB moved back to the top of the standings after Wednesday's statement win over Kolkata Knight Riders, inspired by an unbeaten Virat Kohli century.
PBKS, once unbeaten through seven matches, have unravelled spectacularly with five straight defeats. Their season, once full of promise, now hangs by a thread. Read on for my PBKS vs RCB predictions.

*odds correct at time of publication
Punjab Kings are 11/10 to snap their losing streak at home, but RCB arrive with the momentum of back-to-back victories and are 8/11 favourites to take the points.
It’s 1/1 for PBKS to hit the most match sixes, and 4/5 for RCB to have the highest opening partnership.
Kohli is 5/6 to clear 35.5 runs, while it is 8/11 for the Top Batter to come from RCB’s ranks.
Team News
PBKS made two changes last time out, bringing in Azmatullah Omarzai and Xavier Bartlett. Omarzai impressed with 2‑36 and should retain his place, while Bartlett's extra pace should suit Dharamshala's lively surface.
Shreyas Iyer's side continue to post big totals - eight 200+ scores this season - but their inability to defend them has become chronic.
Arshdeep Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal have lacked consistency and the middle-order batting remains unpredictable.
RCB, by contrast, look settled. Their decision to pair Josh Hazlewood with Jacob Duffy has added bite to the new ball, while the batting order - anchored by Kohli, supported by Devdutt Padikkal and Rajat Patidar - appears balanced and confident.
Virat Kohli over 35.5 runs @ 5/6
Kohli's unbeaten century against KKR was a reminder - if anyone needed one - that he remains the most reliable run‑scorer in T20 cricket. His return to rhythm is ominous for a PBKS attack that has conceded 200+ totals in five of its last seven matches.
Dharamshala is one of the pacier Indian surfaces and its true bounce suits Kohli's timing‑based game. His record here is exceptional: 127, 85* and 95 in his last three ODIs at the venue, plus an IPL average of 51.50 at HPCA Cricket Stadium.
Given PBKS' bowling frailties, backing him to pass 35.5 feels one of the safest angles of the weekend.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru to Win @ 8/11
RCB's win over the Knight Riders sent a message to the rest of the league about their form coming into the business end of the season.
Their attack is firing, their batting order is settled and their confidence is peaking.
PBKS, meanwhile, continue to lose matches they should win. Their death bowling remains unreliable and their middle order blows hot and cold.
RCB won all three of the two teams' meetings last season and the visitors again look the stronger, more balanced side.
