Gujarat Titans entertain Sunrisers Hyderabad at their Ahmedabad stronghold on Tuesday in a clash that should shape the IPL’s end-of-season play-offs. The teams arrive with identical records of seven wins and four losses and lag behind the table-topping Royal Challengers Bengaluru on net run rate.

GT have been superb at home in recent weeks, defending sub‑170 totals against RCB and PBKS with ruthless efficiency. SRH, meanwhile, have lost all three of their matches in Ahmedabad since 2023 — but arrive with one of the most explosive batting units in the competition. Read on for my GT vs SRH predictions.

GT vs SRH Odds

Gujarat Titans are EVENS at home, but SRH arrive with the momentum of six wins in their last seven and are 4/5 favourites to take the points.

It’s 4/7 for SRH to hit the most match sixes, and 5/6 for GT to have the highest opening partnership.

Team News

Both sides are coming off emphatic wins and are expected to retain the same XIs.

GT will again rely on their Test‑match‑length specialist quick bowlers. Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj have been relentless with hard‑length bowling in the powerplay, while Rashid Khan has rediscovered his best form — leading the league with 13 wickets between overs 7–16. Jason Holder continues to contribute across phases, especially at the death.

With the bat, Shubman Gill, B Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler remain the core of Gujarat’s top order, thriving in controlled chases on slower Ahmedabad surfaces.

SRH, meanwhile, are unlikely to change a winning formula. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma — “Travishek” — remain the most destructive opening pair in the league, capable of knocking GT’s attack off their lengths. Ishan Kishan continues to strike at almost 190 against pace, while Heinrich Klaasen is enjoying his most productive IPL season and sits just six runs short of 500.

With the ball, Eshan Malinga provides a point‑of‑difference with his slingy pace, while Pat Cummins and Harsh Dubey offer defensive control.

Sunrisers Hyderabad to win @ 4/5

GT have been excellent in Ahmedabad, winning three of their five home games this year — including each of their last two.

But this match will be played on pitch number five, which was previously used in late April, when Tilak Varma outscored GT with an unbeaten 101 for Mumbai.

This surface has tended to favour the team batting first in recent years, which goes against GT’s preferred method of chasing targets.

SRH’s batting depth could give them the edge in a high‑pressure contest and they have been among the most explosive teams in the powerplay.

Head and Abhishek attack hard lengths, which they are likely to fed a good dose of by the GT pace attack.

Klaasen finishes with a strike rate above 180 and should also make his mark in a match which SRH cannot afford to lose.

The visitors have won six of their last seven games, and their only recent defeat came in a last‑over thriller. With GT relying heavily on Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill for runs, SRH’s superior middle‑order hitting could prove decisive.

Abhishek Sharma Over 1.5 Sixes @ 5/6

Abhishek has been one of the most destructive powerplay hitters in IPL 2026 with 27 sixes to his name inside the first six overs.

That is an impressive amount of maximums from 138 powerplay balls faced and puts him second only to teenage phenomenon Vaibhav Sooryavanshi this season.

On a surface where stroke‑makers thrive early, Abhishek should comfortably clear the ropes twice.
