India host England in the second of a three-match ODI series on Sunday in Cuttack with a start time of 08:00, the match being broadcast live on TNT Sports 1.

Jamie Pacheco is three points in profit already for the Series after picking Jos Buttler for England top bat at 4/1 and has two good bets for this one.  You can check out his India vs England Predictions for the 2nd ODI below...

India

A change in format or players didn't bring about a change in fortunes because India beat England pretty easily in the end. They may have lost five wickets in the chase, but they were so far ahead of the run rate all the time they could have chased the last 20 or so in singles if necessary.

Ravindra Jadeja was the pick of the bowlers with 3/26, and we can thank him for the second of his wickets because he dismissed Jacob Bethell LBW for 51, allowing us to win our England top wager bat on Jos Buttler at 4/1, who had earlier scored 52.

Axar Patel had a fine all-round game with 1/38 with the ball and a breezy 52 with the bat after being promoted to 5 because of India's desire to have a right/left hand combination at the crease where possible.

But it was Shubman Gill who did most of the hard work with the bat with 87, Shreyas Iyer also chipping in with 59. There are match-winners everywhere in this side.

Virat Kohli may be fit for this one and they'll certainly be keen for him to play with the Champions Trophy around the corner but it's anyone's guess as to what other changes they might make.

Possible XI:  Sharma, Gill, Kohli, Pant/Rahul, Pandya, Jadeja, Axar, Arshdeep, Shami/Rana, Chakravarthy/Kuldeep.

England

A good start was ruined by a needless run-out and despite fifties from Buttler and Bethell, they didn't even bat out their 50 overs and one way or another, left a good 30 runs out there that could have made a huge difference.

Bethell looks a player well-suited to this format and the ability to bowl a couple of tidy overs and take a wicket (he got Iyer out) is a big asset.

Jofra Archer bowled ok with Adil Rashid the pick of them with 2/49 off his 10 but this isn't an England side suited to these sorts of conditions, and it could be a long old Champions Trophy for them.

Jamie Overton improved as the recent T20 Series went on and might get a game at the expense of Brydon Carse or Archer.

Possible XI: Duckett, Salt, Root, Brook, Buttler, Livingstone, Bethell, Carse/Overton, Archer, Rashid, Mahmood/Wood.

Pitch and conditions

Cuttack has hosted 19 ODIs over the years but only two have been since 2017.

India posted a monster 381 here with Yuvraj Singh scoring 150 and MS Dhoni getting 134. England, to be fair, came pretty close with 366 in the chase.

Then in 2019 the Windies posted 315 which India chased with an over to spare, Kohli top scoring with 85. So, it's a pretty good wicket and 300 batting first will be seen as a bare minimum.

India vs England 2nd ODI Odds

India are 2/5, implied probability of 71% with England 15/8, so India's price has taken a bit of a cut since the last match, which is understandable.

Not much has changed since our last preview, as we still think spin is key and that India are far better at both bowling it and playing it.

That said, a flat track where the likes of Buttler, Brook and Duckett can swing through the line might be their best chance of the Series. But the price isn't quite big enough for us to take the gamble on whether that's the case, so we'll give this market a miss again.

England Top Batsman

As was the case last time, it's pointless trying to play the Indian top batsman market because we don't have a particularly good idea of who's playing or batting where. That said, the Betfred odds-compilers have taken note of Axar's possible promotion up the order by making him just a 7/1 shot when he'd normally be twice that price.

So instead, we'll play half a point on Duckett for top England bat at 4/1. A good wicket where he can go for his shots without fear should be right up his street and that's a good price for an opener who holds all the trump cards: guaranteed a bat, bats in the Powerplay overs, has time to play himself in, and so on. Duckett it is.

Total Match Run-Outs

But the better bet might be this one. In six matches so far across the five-match T20I Series and the first ODI, there's been a run out in five of them.

Whether that's bad communication between the batters, lazy running, excellent fielding or just the fact you need to take far more risks with your running in white ball cricket is hard to say. Either way, the stats don't lie and one here for either team is all we need.
