John Barnes
World Cup Ambassador
John Barnes is one of the greatest England and Liverpool players of all time, earning 79 international caps for the Three Lions and winning two league titles and as many FA Cups with the Reds. He also played for Watford, Newcastle and Charlton Athletic.
A ridiculously skilful winger, Barnes was famous initially for his speed and trickery when dribbling with the ball and scored some iconic goals in his professional career. He later moved into football management, where he led Celtic, Jamaica and Tranmere Rovers.
John is also famous for his commentary and punditry and he will be bringing that expertise to Betfred Insights throughout the World Cup campaign as our Ambassador, giving us his thoughts, predictions and hot takes throughout the six-week festival of football in North America.
