Friday Greyhound tips: We’re off to Suffolk Downs for our three tips

There's a trio of top tips for your delectation today as our resident greyhound tipster, Michael Smyth (@bettingjungle on X), casts his eye over Suffolk Downs.

1 pt 14:44 Suffolk Downs – Stonepark James (T1) @ SP

Three from Suffolk Downs this afternoon on an ultra-competitive thirteen race graded card. At 14:44 look out for well-drawn railer STONEPARK JAMES who lines up from T1. The Paul Rea-trained June 2024 son of Coolavanny Hoffa is three from three in this A3 grade and is surprisingly dropped back into this company following just one run in higher grade. All eyes on the break.

If James gets it right at the boxes, he can be a couple clear at the first bend and kick for home off the second bend. Savana Bono (T5) is a consistent A3 performer and rates as the main danger. Essex Gunner (T2) is another in with live chances. The Michelle Brown-trained railer is more than capable of taking a race like this if he pings the lids.

1 pt 15:41 Suffolk Downs – Savana Frenchy (T5) @ SP

The A7 graded race at 15:41 over the four-bend 388-metre trip can go to Savana Frenchy from T5. The Jason Ray-trained performer has recently returned to action following a spell off lame. Two sprint runs and two over this course and distance would have blown away the cobwebs, and she should be spot on now and ready to win. In a race lacking early pace, Frenchy has a chance to lead round.

If that happens, she’s capable of clocking around the 24.20 mark and a repeat of that would make her very hard to beat. Westfield Tigris won last time out in A8 company and rates as the danger from T1. Former Yarmouth-based runner Yoguartpotjohn (T3) is worth noting in the market. The April 2023 daughter of Dorotas Wildcat was sent off as the 5/4 favourite last time out and finished second in a respectable 24.79.

1 pt 17:14 Suffolk Downs – Thirty Two (T4) @ SP

Next up at Suffolk Downs is the Michelle Brown-trained THIRTY TWO, who runs from T4 in the A5 graded race at 17:14. In recent weeks, Thirty Two has finished third, fourth and fifth in A4 company following two A4 wins at the turn of the calendar year. When Thirty Two gets it right at the boxes, he’s a sub-24.30 type of performer, a repeat of that would put him bang there this afternoon.

In an ultra-competitive race, the key is the break. It's imperative that Thirty Two pings out and leads round. Savana Cola (T1) looks well-drawn on the rails and could be the one to chase home the selection and fill the forecast spot. Hes Dynamite (T2) is another in with live chances. If the June 2024 son of Ballymac Cashout brings his trapping boots, he would be a danger to all.
