RB Leipzig suffered a 6-0 hiding at Bayern Munich on the opening night of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season, but Die Roten Bullen put that behind them to win eight of their next 10 league games and they now sit second, six points behind the reigning champions. On Friday (19:30 GMT, BBC iPlayer), Ole Werner's side travel to Borussia-Park to take on Borussia Monchengladbach, who failed to win any of their first eight matches but have won their last three to move up to 12th.

Borussia Monchengladbach are likely to be missing Jonas Omlin (muscle), Fabio Cristian Chiarodia (thigh), Nathan Ngoumou (Achilles), Philipp Sander (muscle) and Jan Urbich (illness) for Friday's game.

RB Leipzig have suffered a major injury blow, with Assan Ouedraogo, who made headlines last week with a stunning long-range strike in a 2-0 victory over Werder Bremen, sustaining a tendon injury in his knee which will rule him out of action for several weeks.

Yan Diomande sustained a nasal fracture in the same game, but he will train and play with a custom protective mask.

Ouedraogo joins El Chadaille Bitshiabu (muscle), Viggo Gebel, Romilo Cardoso (both knee) and Benjamin Henrichs (Achilles) in the RB Leipzig treatment room.

Price Boost - Haris Tabakovic To Score The First Goal @ 5/1 6/1

What a season Hoffenheim's Haris Tabakovic is having on loan at Bundesliga rivals Gladbach.

The Bosnia & Herzegovina international has scored 11 goals in 15 appearances for club and country in 2025/26, and all 11 have been struck in his last 12 - the first of those a 90+2 equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Bayer Leverkusen on September 21.

Tabakovic has registered nine goals for Gladbach and three for Bosnia, helping his nation to a second-place finish in their World Cup qualification group earlier this month.

Today's Football Fixtures

The 31-year-old has scored in his last three international games and last four at club level, while he's on seven goals in his last six matches for club and country.

He's opened the scoring in two of his last five appearances, once for Bosnia in their 1-1 draw in Austria on November 18 and also for Gladbach in their 4-0 win at St. Pauli on November 1. Really, it should be three in five as he saw a penalty saved by Marvin Schwabe in a 3-1 victory over FC Koln on November 8, although he did redeem himself in the second half with a goal.

Tabakovic is 7/5 to score anytime, but at 6/1, he's offering some serious value to strike first.

Gladbach have won their last three games, while Leipzig were beaten 2-1 in their last away match at Hoffenheim.

However, it's the visitors who I am backing to claim all three points on Friday.

Gladbach deserve tremendous credit for turning their form around since the start of November, but all three wins have come against sides currently in the bottom half of the Bundesliga, and two of them, St. Pauli (16th) and Heidenheim (18th), are in the bottom three.

Leipzig will be an entirely different prospect on Friday, with Die Roten Bullen only dropping points this season to Bayern, Borussia Dortmund (1-1) and Hoffenheim, who are first, fourth and seventh in the table as things stand.

Werner's side have been able to roll over lower-ranked opponents, and I'm expecting them to add Gladbach to their list of victims this week, but I can see the hosts scoring at least once, having struck 10 goals in their last three games and boasting the league's third-highest goalscorer, Tabakovic, in their ranks.

Leipzig, meanwhile, have conceded in four of their last six matches.
