Tennis Betting Tips: Sabalenka has edge in top-two clash

The 2025 French Open women’s singles final promises to be a classic, as world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka faces world No. 2 Coco Gauff on Saturday.
It’s the first time since 2013 that the world’s top two women will meet in the Paris final and both will be seeking their maiden French Open crown. It promises to be an intriguing clash of styles with Sabalenka’s powerful ball-striking going up against Gauff’s solid defensive traits. Here are my tennis betting tips for the clash.

Aryna Sabalenka -2.5 Game Handicap 2 @ 4/6
Sabalenka is aiming for her fourth Grand Slam title, but her first on clay, while Gauff is seeking her second major and to become the first American woman since Serena Williams to win in Paris.
Belarusian Sabalenka has been the WTA tour’s standout performer this season, particularly on clay.
Sabalenka has won 17 of her 19 matches on the dirt this year, recording notable victories over Jasmine Paolini in Stuttgart, Gauff in Madrid and Iga Swiatek in Thursday’s Roland Garros semi-final.
She has dropped only three sets in her last three tournaments and responded to the setback of Swiatek levelling up their last-four clash by wiping the floor with the Pole in the decider, taking it 6-0.
Sabalenka’s confidence is sky-high, and her ability to raise her level in the biggest moments speaks as much about her improved mentality as it does about the qualities of her game.
She will go on the attack against Gauff in the same way she did when beating the American 6-3, 7-5 in Madrid a month ago.
The 27-year-old won 17 consecutive points after Gauff’s initial service hold to open up a 4-1 lead with breaks in the third and fifth games.
The American struggled to cope with her immense power and committed a total of 27 forced errors to Sabalenka’s 10 over the course of the two sets.
The 21-year-old has shown remarkable growth this year, reaching the finals in Madrid and the Italian Open this spring, and her all-court game continues to evolve.
But her athleticism and defensive skills may be no match for Sabalenka’s A game on Saturday, with the level that the Belarusian found in the final set against Swiatek appearing to be something else.
She has covered a 2.5-game handicap in all but three of her 19 completed games on clay this year and can come through Saturday’s matchup with a bit to spare.

Set Betting Aryna Sabalenka 2-1 @ 11/4
It is also entirely possible that Gauff can string enough service holds together to mount a strong challenge in at least one set of a potential three-setter.
The American’s defensive abilities will be the sternest test Sabalenka’s serve has faced in this fortnight and she too has the mental toughness to battle through adversity.
That was evident when she came from a set down against Madison Keys in her quarter-final and after emerging victorious in a physical scrap with Qinwen Zheng in Rome.
Five of Gauff’s 10 previous clashes with Sabalenka have gone the distance and with their head-to-head record evenly poised at 5-5, there is no reason to suspect a runaway victory in Paris.
