21:48 Gulfstream Park (Race 10) - Skippylongstocking @ SP

Trainer Saffie Joseph is double-handed. His Hold My Bourbon (1) has ran below his best a few times since an all the way victory at Saratoga in August.

He has been working really well since shipping to Florida. At his best, the mount of Irad Ortiz has a chance of upsetting his stablemate Skippylongstocking (2). Take out his runs in top company and the six-year-old wins more than his fair share of races. He’s won a Grade 3 and Grade 2 at Tampa and Santa Anita this year. Time of since August is a possible issue with him. This looks a good spot class-wise to make his comeback.

Skippylongstocking (2) is likely going to be a short price. The Godolphin owned Poster (5) will probably be a clear second favourite. Not just because Flavien Prat is riding him. He is a lightly-raced three-year-old who won on the turf at Churchill on his comeback. His two dirt starts were both good ones. He won a Grade 2 at Aqueduct as a juvenile. His third in a Grade 3 at Tampa in February was better than it looks as he was pace compromised.

Con Compania (7) had Classic of Course (4) back in third when winning a handicap here in October. His rider was afforded an easy lead but he is unexposed over today’s distance. Racing Driver (6) can ran the odd stinker but a repeat of his win here last month may get him a minor award.

21:48 Gulfstream Park - Winner
Skippylongstocking

Odds correct at time of publishing.

22:15 Fair Grounds (Race 8) - Komorebino Omoide @ SP

22:15 Fair Grounds - Race 8 - Winner

22:18 Gulfstream Park (Race 11) - Major Dude @ SP

Wolfie's Dynaghost (2) came back to his best running first time for trainer Brian Lynch at Churchill Downs last month. The seven-year-old was a clear-cut winner of a Grade 3 there with a couple of these behind him. He set legitimate early fractions but was helped by the rider of the pacey Quatrocento (9) taking back off the speed.

If he makes the lead without any pace pressure, the double up is very much on the cards. The late running Chasing the Crown (3) was made favourite for that race he won in Kentucky. He never ran a step but was coming off a lay off. He has contending form in his locker including a Grade 1 placing over today’s course and distance.

Two of these are back in Florida after winning in New York. Cugino (6) won a Grade 2 last month. That was over eleven furlongs but he has plenty of form over shorter. The mount of Flavien Prat is a player along with Major Dude (8). The five-year-old faced a simple task at Aqueduct last time. He’s ran some of his best races at Gulfstream including winning this race last year. He gets the tepid vote.

Beach Gold (5) was overmatched in a Grade 1 last time. He ran well in back to back stakes at Kentucky Downs prior to that. He’s a progressive four year old who is worth considering. Steal Sunshine (1) ran him to a neck here in June. He comes off a sharp effort in a handicap.

Divin Propos (10) looked an unlucky loser when cut back in distance last month.

22:18 Gulfstream Park - Race 11 - Winner
Major Dude

Odds correct at time of publishing.

23:15 Fair Grounds (Race 10) - Luv Your Neighbor @ SP

Hit Parade (3) has won both her starts since her debut. Her latest was a massive improvement on her maiden breaker. She beat Miss Call (6) by half a length in a starter event at Churchill.

She’s improving and goes for a top trainer. Miss Call (6) didn’t do too much for the form when third next time.

Hit Parade (3) is likely to be a short price. It could be a spot to look in another direction, especially as some of her rivals seem to have as much potential as her. One of them is Pashmina (7). She was switched to the dirt for her second career start. The result was a near eleven length romp in a maiden over course and distance.

Luv Your Neighbor (1) and Have Faith (2) step up from sprint races. The rail drawn filly ran second in a deep conditions race here early this month. She is bred stay this longer distance. Her trainer has made a fine start to this meet. Have Faith (2) has improved in all three starts. The way she won over seven furlongs last month suggests more ground won’t be a problem.

Actis (8) won a stake at Delta Downs last month. This race may be deeper but she is improving and in good hands.

23:15 Fair Grounds - Race 10 - Winner
Luv Your Neighbor

Odds correct at time of publishing.

23:45 Fair Grounds (Race 11) - Mesquite @ SP

This has a look of at least a 3/1 the field race it’s so open. There are two runners in here with stakes form. Crown the Buckeye (5) has won back to events for Ohio breds. This is a step up in class but the manner of those victories suggests he may be up to the task. Very Connected (7) has been less successful but it much better races. He has earned place money in graded stakes in Kentucky. The last was a deep event but he did get fast and contested early fractions to chase down.

The trio drawn to the inside are all twice-raced, last time out maiden breakers. Liberty National (3) improved massively off his debut to win well over this distance at Churchill Downs. Chip Honcho (2) more than confirmed the promise of his debut second to go one better in Kentucky.

The pair have upside. So too is Mesquite (1). He has looked a work in progress. His maiden win last month was a lot better than it looked on paper. He gets a very tepid vote.

Trainer Brad Cox has numbers and a decent chance here in Mister Punch (8). He beat a field of maiden claimers by open lengths at Churchill last month. At this stage, he has shown more talent than his stablemates Quality Mischief (4) and Arabia Wild (6). That pair are possible improvers.

23:45 Fair Grounds - Race 11 - Winner
Mesquite

Odds correct at time of publishing.
