22:00 Fair Grounds - Time to Win @ SP

Without question, the class dropping Hit Show (6) is the horse to beat. His finest hour came when taking The Group 1 Dubai World Cup last March. He won two stakes after that. In his last start in November, he split a pair of very talented three year olds in a deep Grade 2 at Churchill.

He won his only start at this track. The six-year-old won’t be inconvenienced if the rains come and this is run on wet track. The only slight worry with him is his target is likely to be repeat at Meydan. There is a chance he’s not at his absolute peak.

The biggest dangers to Hit Show (6) look to be newly turned and lightly raced four year olds. Accelerize (2) had Cadet Corps (3) half a length back in third when winning a Grade 3 over course and distance last month. He looks playable especially with the possibility with the lead on his own. Like him, Time to Win (5) is improving. He followed up a maiden win with a victory in a conditions event at Gulfstream. That win was better than it looks as he had to reel in the runner up who set slow fractions up front. He runs as if this longer trip will suit. As the likely third choice in the betting, he may be worth a small interest.

Moonlight (4) ran below well his best when behind Accelerize (2) last time. He is a bit of a horse for course at Churchill but has a wide margin victory at The Fair Grounds to his name.

23:00 Fair Grounds - Luv Your Neighbor @ SP

Being a half-sister to a Kentucky Oaks winner, the unbeaten Bella Ballerina (3) has big shoes to fill. The early signs are pretty good. She followed up a wide margin win on debut with a Grade 2 success at Churchill Downs. The second and fourth in that event both ran well in stakes next time. She has been working forwardly for her return. There is likely improvement to come on only career start number three. She looks the gal to beat at a short price.

Just Singing (1) got within a length of Bella Ballerina (3) at Churchill. She did a very favourable trip sat well off fast fractions. The rail drawn runner is going the right way, breaking her maiden by three lengths from Dancin in Old Town (4) prior to that.

She will be a price despite getting so close to the likely favourite last time. Likewise Luv Your Neighbor (6). She has ran second in back to back stakes locally. The third in her last race did run Bella Ballerina (3) close prior to that. She has been a bridesmaid in her last three starts which is a worry. Now racing in blinkers first time, she may be the play at the odds.

There are a trio of last time out maiden winners in here. The filly will take the most money of them is Powered by Family (5). She improved off her debut to graduate by four lengths here last month. Her biggest asset seems to be her stamina.

She may be seen to best effect if she gets speed to chase down. Agrippina (8) and Majestical (7) have more tactical speed. The first named may improve for stepping up from six furlongs. Majestical (7) is in good hands. He is likely to get a heads-up ride from Ben Curtis who excels in forward running types.

23:30 Fair Grounds - Paladin @ SP

The majority of this field come out of a Grade 2 at Aqueduct or a Grade 3 ran here last month. Paladin (4) was the winner of the stake in New York. He was making it two-from-two after being awarded a maiden on debut.

The form of his victory last time was given a boost when the two length runner up came back to win a Grade 3 at Tampa last Saturday. With jockey Flavien Prat away for The Saudi Cup, Tyler Gaffalione now takes the ride. He’s the ante-post Kentucky Derby favourite. He’ll be a short price here to enhance his reputation.

Like Paladin (4), Golden Tempo (2) is unbeaten in two career starts. In his maiden win and Grade 3 score last time, he came from well off the pace to get there late on. There is no questioning his talent and potential. He’s worked well since his last start.

The worry with him is he got fast fractions to chase down last time. That is not guaranteed here with the early fractions more controlled. If that is the case, the third and fourth behind him Carson Street (3) and Chip Honcho (5) may reverse the form. The pair contested the pace that ultimately collapsed. That said, they and the fifth Quality Mischief (8) don’t have the possible star quality that Golden Tempo (2) may have.

Courting (7) has seven lengths to find with Paladin (4) from last time. He still looked green and has a look of a work in progress. With blinkers being added, he may be a different horse.

Universe (1) ran well to be second in back to back graded stakes in Kentucky last back end. He now races with blinkers on after running a shocker on his three-year-old debut.
