21:04 Tampa Bay Downs (Race 8) - Sister Supream @ SP

The market leaders seem to be drawn towards the outside. Tennesseehoneybee (11) was claimed off an all the victory at Del Mar in August. This is a step up in class but only a little as this race has not come up strong for the level.

Her new trainer is a competent operator and the booking of Samy Camacho is a positive one. Gridlock (10) has a bit more class than her. Not for the first time, she didn’t seem to see out a mile in a stronger race at Gulfstream last month. She has placed form at bigger tracks at around this trip that make her the gal to beat.

Course specialist Cloud Storage (12) has ben working well for her comeback. Birdie Rose (4) gets class relief. Her second at Ellis Park in July in a rare start sprinting on the dirt is contending form. The pair are worth considering but Sister Supream (6) may be the play at the odds. She was claimed after a too bad to be true effort at Saratoga in August.

Her new trainer has excellent stats with first time acquisitions and lay off runners. He’s winning a super rate at this meet and Sonny Leon is his go to rider.

Moretastic (3) was claimed off a near miss here last month. She is a little interesting now ridden by a 7lb claiming rider. My Little Wildcat (2) and Prayed for Girl (5) filled the places in a similar race to this one last month. The last named may have the better running style for today.

Princess Britni (7) was promising mare in the spring. She may have needed her comeback in a deeper race at Gulfstream.

21:54 Oaklawn Park (Race 8) - Tap Into This @ SP

The most talented runner in this line up is Tap Into This (4). He rattled up a hat-trick at Saratoga and Keeneland in the summer and autumn. His winning run came to an end in a deep conditions event at Churchill in late November.

His best form is at seven furlongs. He has ran well enough over a mile to suggest he can take this race. The only knock on his chances is his lagging running style. In a small field where they may not go hard early, he could be poorly placed early on.

The likely second and third favourites ran in the $300,000 Zia Park Derby in November. Zero Sugar (2) ran really well to be half a length second. He hadn’t raced in eight months so may improve for the run.

The four-year-old was in the van throughout where the winner sat off contested fractions. He’s only had three career starts so there may be improvement to come. Amorosa (5) finished four lengths behind him. He ran better when second in a local stake last month. The top class Iowa bred has a chance to steal this if on the lead on his own.

First Division (1) defied an absence to win a conditions event here last month. This is a step up in class. Bearing in mind he ran a close third in a stake in April, he is well up to today’s level. Upgraded claimer Bestfriend Rocket (6) has more to do. He has worked well for his new trainer so may be able to take a step forward.
