Tuesday Racing Tips: Chelsea set to flourish

There are three meetings scheduled across Britain on Tuesday, with a pair of afternoon jump cards accompanied by an AW flat fixture under the lights. First off is Southwell at 14:00 followed by Taunton at 14:15. A bumper nine-race card from Wolverhampton gets underway at 16:23 and concludes at 20:30.
Among my Tuesday Racing Tips is one for trainer Robert Walford at Taunton, who went close to winning over course-and-distance earlier this month off a 1lb lower mark.
Horse Racing Tips - Tuesday, March 24
- 14:15 Taunton - Sinchi Roca @ 11/10
- 15:15 Taunton - St Lukes Chelsea @ 7/4
- 15:30 Southwell - Peckforton Hills @ 11/10

14:15 Taunton - Sinchi Roca @ 11/10
The Syd Hosie-trained SINCHI ROCA was reported to have stopped quickly when running no race at all when favourite at Fontwell last month, but that race was run in extremely testing conditions and he is best excused for that effort.
One of only two hurdle winners in the field for this Taunton outing, the six-year-old brings the top rating of 119 into this race and he is well deserving of that mark, having shown some smart form in bumpers including a win at this track on his rules debut and a second in Listed company at Cheltenham.
Successful in a good-ground point, he ran out a decisive winner over hurdles on soft ground at Wincanton in January and he has got plenty in his favour in this company, not least a return to a quicker surface.

15:15 Taunton - St Lukes Chelsea @ 7/4
This handicap at Taunton has an open look to it and preference is for Robert Walford's ST LUKES CHELSEA, who arrives in better form than most and should give a good account.
The five-year-old, the mount of Freddie Gingell, is a maiden after 16 starts under rules - 10 of those over hurdles - but he has been running to a consistent level in defeat this season, including when beaten only three-quarters of a length into third over this course-and-distance a fortnight ago.
He is only a pound higher for this test and a clear round may well see him enhance his trainer's already impressive strike-rate of 29 per cent with his runners at this track over the past five years (14 winners from 48 runners).

15:30 Southwell - Peckforton Hills @ 11/10
The Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero-trained PECKFORTON HILLS clearly has his limitations, but he has shown enough in his first two handicap starts to suggest he can win a race of this nature at Southwell off his current mark.
A Carlisle bumper winner on his second start in February last year, he has not kicked on as connections would have hoped, but he has found improvement since the switch to handicaps with headgear applied, finishing third over 2m4f at Sedgefield and runner-up over the same trip at Doncaster last month.
This extra half-mile is an unknown for him, but his yard shows a healthy level stakes profit of £19.25 with their runners at this track and leading conditional rider Tristan Durrell has been booked.
