Lucky 15 Tips: Hat-trick on the cards for Princess at Musselburgh

Sunday 21st June 2026, 19:29

This week's racing was always going to feel a little on the low-key side after Royal Ascot, but we do have five meetings to sink our teeth into across Monday.
Ireland's sole offering is a seven-race Flat card at Ballinrobe in the evening and there are a couple of evening meetings at Windsor and Brighton, with the former providing the race of the day.

Musselburgh and Catterick host the afternoon entertainment, so there's plenty to go at. Everyone loves a Lucky 15, so we've got you covered with four strong fancies to consider combining into a multiple and among them is a progressive filly for David & Nicola Barron who looks well set to complete a hat-trick on Monday.

14:15 Musselburgh - Mereside Princess @ 7/2

David & Nicola Barron's MERESIDE PRINCESS has really turned a corner of late and she managed to get off the mark with a comfortable victory at Carlisle last month. Making all the running on that occasion, she led them a merry dance from the front and had plenty in hand.

The handicapper decided a 4lb rise about right and she made a mockery of that when following up over course and distance last time out.

Positive tactics paid dividends once again and she kicked almost five lengths clear. She looks like one to keep on side for the time being, despite a 9lb rise for that success.

16:15 Musselburgh - Wee Mary @ 2/1

Scottish trainer Jim Goldie has already had 36 winners this season which is a decent total so far and there's a good chance that WEE MARY can provide him with another one here. She returned to form with a one-length second at Carlisle on her penultimate start.

There was more to come over course and distance next time and she returned to winning ways with a comfortable success. Goldie's filly made all the running and the result never looked in doubt at any stage. A follow-up success is expected, despite a 6lb rise.

19:50 Windsor - Edwin Hubble @ 5/2

Brian Meehan runs EDWIN HUBBLE here and the well-bred three-year-old is a distant relative of Kalanisi. Half-brother to an Australian Group 1 winner, he showed some potential as a juvenile and the step up in trip should suit, judging by his pedigree.

He appreciated the step up to a mile when finishing third to the useful Lost Boys in a Haydock maiden in September and bumped into an impressive winner when second to a Godolphin runner in a 1m1f novice at Goodwood.

Needing the run on seasonal and handicap debut at Sandown last time out, a 2lb drop in the weights will help, as will the lower grade and the slightly longer trip.

20:20 Windsor - Chasing Gold @ 4/1

CHASING GOLD has been a pretty consistent performer since joining Michael Keady and it was only a matter of time until the four-year-old managed to get off the mark.

There was a slight mishap at Nottingham on his penultimate start, where he virtually refused to race and unshipped his jockey, but he left that run well behind him at Yarmouth last time.

He was travelling strongly when pressing the leader with a couple of furlongs to go and kept on well to score by a length-and-a-half. It's hard to argue with a 4lb rise and provided the much quicker conditions aren’t a problem, he should be in the mix once again.

If all four of our selections won, today's notional 50p win Lucky 15, at the prices indicated (they can of course fluctuate), would return around £290 for a £7.50 total stake. If you can improve upon our selections (of course you can) - then go for it!
