Nap of the day with owen mcmahon

It's easy to overthink when on a losing run, so instead of trying to find the best bit of value, I've gone with the horse I think has the best chance of winning for Wednesday's NAP of the Day.

As it goes, I think she's good value at time of publication. Don't be surprised to see her odds-on in the morning.

After a highly-promising debut, FLEUR DE PROVENCE ought to prove hard to beat at Gowran Park on Wednesday.

Dermot Weld's three-year-old daughter of Gleneagles finished in the middle of two Aidan O'Brien runners - namely Drop Dead Gorgeous and White Sand Beach - in a fillies' maiden over a mile at Naas in March.

The former of the Ballydoyle pair, who came out on top in County Kildare, went on to finish a close third in a Group 3 at the Curragh the other week, franking the form in no uncertain terms.

Back in fourth was the reopposing Sanctijude, for Willie McCreery. That was the Churchill filly's seventh start, and she's had another two since. How many wins? Zero.

Given the amount of improvement in the selection, I strongly fancy her to confirm that form.

Jessie Harrington's Bofa Beach is dangerous on her debut run at the Curragh last summer, but she disappointed back at the same venue in September and Wednesday is her first run in 235 days.

Joseph O'Brien runs two, including the newcomer Nellcote - a daughter of Arc hero Sottsass. She's preferred to the once-raced Themis, who has it all to do after failing to beat a single rival at the Curragh last August.

Magical Mollie, Wildlife, Jolie Cailin are also unknown quantities, but less appealing on paper, while the rank outsider Beo Go Deo is very hard to advise.

This looks a winnable affair for Fleur De Provence, who if successful is likely to come back to County Kilkenny in a month's time for the €107k Gowran Classic.
