NAP of the Day: Ticker Tape’s stock is rising – time to invest

It hasn't been the most successful period for this NAP of the Day column, but with a new week brings new opportunities.
I'm going up north, to Newcastle, looking for a winner on Tuesday, putting my faith in the all-conquering Gosdens.

I took a chance on John & Thady Gosden's TICKER TAPE on debut at Wolverhampton in March, but it backfired.
It's not hard to see why the three-year-old daughter of Time Test caught my eye. She's owned, in part, by Anthony Oppenheimer, of Cracksman and Golden Horn fame, and is a half-sister of Ascot Gold Cup hero Courage Mon Ami (rated 118 at his peak).
Listed winners Lion's Pride (113) and Danielle (110) are in the family too - plus Crimson Rosette (103) and Purple Ribbon (102), for good measure. Talk about being bred in the purple...
I hoped she'd be good enough to make a winning start in what I believed to be a modest fillies' novice event in the West Midlands, but ultimately she wasn't, beating just one of three rivals home, finishing over six lengths adrift of the eventual 1-2.
The form has aged well, with the well-backed winner Lizzana going on to finish runner-up in a Group 3 in Italy, but still I expected more, especially with the yard in such good form. They still are, to be fair, operating at a 30% strike rate in the past fortnight.
Her subsequent effort at Lingfield, over a longer trip, was an improved one. She was within two lengths of the winner on this occasion, ending up in fourth of 12.
That was after making most of the running, from a wide draw, so perhaps she can be marked up a little bit.
I expect her to take another step forward on Tuesday, as she goes further out in trip. A mile and four ought to be well within her compass, given the breeding.
That could be enough to see her get off the mark at the third time of asking, for this race won't take much winning.
The 75-rated Littlecote sets the standard, but not a lofty one. She's finished runner-up on the last three occasions, which is always a concern in my book. Her form is decent, but does she want to win?
Her aside, it's the two newcomers in the field - namely Hello Friend and Danseuse - who could give us something to think about. They represent top connections and the former in particular is well-bred. See how they go in the market.
Maneater isn't out of the question, but has a bit to do on return from 180 days off the track giving over a stone to younger rivals, while La Tosca and The Lakes are hard to advise.
At the prices, I'm giving Ticker Tape another chance to live up to the promise of her profile.
