Nap of the Day: It’s time for Primoz to deliver

It's the final Nap of the Day - at least from yours truly - before the 2026 Cheltenham Festival, so let's make it a winning one, shall we?
I'm back up to Ayr for a Lucinda Russell & Michael Scudamore inmate who I believe to be well-handicapped after a string of bad results.
I wouldn't go as far as to say he's a cliff horse of mine - not yet anyway - but I've certainly had more bad than good days following the career of PRIMOZ.
Lucinda Russell & Michael Scudamore's eight-year-old son of Westerner is a real source of frustration for me. As if it wasn't obvious already...
In fairness, he boasts a 25% strike rate, courtesy of four wins from 16 starts, which isn't bad at all - and there's a fair few seconds and thirds in the book too.
However, it feels like every time I've been invested, he's let me down. I'm hoping that changes at Ayr on Saturday.
Primoz has suffered seven-straight defeats since being sent off 6/1 for the Grand Annual at last year's Cheltenham Festival, dropping eight pounds in the handicap as a consequence.
However, many of those efforts came during a time the Scottish yard were completely out-of-sorts, so he's on a very handy mark (122) if able to recapture some of his best form.
I thought his run at Newcastle a fortnight ago was a big step in the right direction. He finished third of seven in the North East, just under five lengths adrift of the winner Prairie Wolf, who's a fine yardstick for Joel Parkinson & Sue Smith, who are enjoying a fantastic season. Similar comments apply to the runner-up, Josh The Boss.
There was significantly more life in Primoz' performance, and if he improves for it then I think he's in a very good position to get back into the winners' enclosure.
