Lucky 15 Tips: Celtic Dino primed for Chepstow feature

There are four meetings across the UK and Ireland on Sunday, with an even split of National Hunt and Flat action in store.

The Welsh Champion Hurdle is the main dish as Chepstow concludes their Welsh Racing Festival meeting, while they go jumping too at Cork. On the Flat, racing comes from Goodwood and Naas. Below is my Lucky 15 tips for Sunday's racing action, including one for local trainer Sam Thomas bidding to snare the feature event at Chepstow.

15:02 Goodwood – Swift Winds @ 12/1

SWIFT WINDS looks well placed for a big run for trainer Hilal Kobeissi in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Nursery at Goodwood over 7f.

The Kodiac filly won a Brighton maiden over this trip in August on second start and was then denied a neck over a mile here (good to firm) in a novice event behind a smart filly from the James Owen stable.

She was outclassed in the Group 2 May Hill Stakes at Doncaster last month but has since shaped with promise despite getting outpaced at a stage in a Class 2 nursery at Newmarket.

She's been eased 3lb for that, drops to Class 4 company now and has in-form Sean Levey taking over in the saddle back over a track and trip where she has already proven her effectiveness.

15:17 Chepstow – Celtic Dino @ 9/4

The Welsh Champion Hurdle has drawn a field of 11 runners at Chepstow and top-weight in the 2m handicap contest is carried by CELTIC DINO for Sam Thomas, with Dylan Johnston easing that burden to the tune of 3lb.

The former dual bumper winner won a Wincanton maiden on debut over timber last October and followed up in a decent event at Ascot in November.

He ran well in graded events at Aintree and Kempton thereafter and signed off with a pleasing third on handicap debut at Aintree on good ground at the Grand National Festival.

Like the majority of this field, he comes here fresh but he has twice won before off breaks of 100+ days and could be primed now.

15:52 Chepstow – Jet Plane @ 5/1

JET PLANE is a six-time chase winner who did well in Hunter Chases towards the end of last season, most notably when second of 29 over the big Aintree fences in April for trainer Dan Skelton.

Last month's comeback at Worcester should have blown off any cobwebs and he's 5lb better off with re-opposing winner Mount Tempest now.

He was a bit free-going last time and made some mistakes but, with the run behind him, better should be forthcoming.

17:22 Goodwood – Day Of Grace @ 11/4

William Haggas and Cieren Fallon team up with DAY OF GRACE in this Fillies' Handicap and the Night Of Thunder filly is taken to follow up last month's Thirsk success.

She got a little bit outpaced over a mile that day but picked up well and came clear to win in good style, very much suggesting this extra two furlongs will be to her liking.

She moves into Class 4 company now but she's very lightly-raced and has scope to go well again from this 6lb higher mark with progress anticipated upped in trip.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
