Lucky 15 Tips: Don’t be alarmed – leave it to Rossa

We're off to Kempton on Wednesday for our Lucky 15 Tips - an eight-race card that kicks in at 16:40. Will Buick, Rossa Ryan and Silvestre de Sousa are among the headline acts in the saddle, and a brilliant late afternoon/early evening's racing is assured.

17:40 - Alarming @ 7/4

The formidable duo of trainer Ralph Beckett and jockey Rossa Ryan combine with a two-year-old filly looking to take this novice on start number three.

Two good efforts so far - second on debut at Salisbury (6f), and then pitched into a series final for members of her own sex at Goodwood worth £50k to the winner (fourth of 14 over today's trip of 7f, beaten 3.25l).

This looks like a great opportunity for Alarming to open her account.

18:10 - Military Cross @ 8/15

Godolphin, Team Gosden, Will Buick - talk about another potent outfit. They combine here with a twice-raced three-year-old Nathaniel gelding, in a mile-and-a-half novice.

Military Cross has finished second, at this trip, on both those spins - close-up here at Kempton on debut, then at Ascot. In Berkshire he rather ran in snatches on the good-to-soft ground, and will doubtless have learned plenty.

Returning to the all-weather can only be a plus at this stage given that excellent start (a head behind an 82-rated stablemate), and he's the one they've got to beat for me.

18:40 - Dandy G Boy @ 4/1

A three-year-old gelding now by Dandy Man, trained by Warren Greatrex, and the brilliant Brazilian Silvestre de Sousa is on top.

Dandy G Boy is one-from-11 all told, and I'm not sure connections are fully convinced what his ideal trip is. Today it's 7f, but last time at Chelmsford he ran over a mile and after leading late in the piece he rather crumbled in the final furlong.

Prior to that at Brighton he again ran well, over today's 7f (beaten 2.25l), and the time before that won nicely at Wolves (again over 7f, and by a length, off a mark of 60).

Back on the all-weather today, off 63, and on a pace track like this, I fancy another success could be there for the taking. Silvestre rides for the first time - a big plus.

20:10 - Chicago Storm @ 11/2

This six-year-old gelding must defy the welter burden of 10st 2lb, but he's carried a good deal more over hurdles and Dorset trainer Daisy Hitchens will be hoping he can add to his previous two flat race success (Naas and Dundalk, when trained in Ireland by Chris Timmons).

Daisy has had Chicago Storm since January and has coaxed a couple of hurdle wins out of her fairly new-ish recruit. He's not run since the summer (119 days) but this isn't a deep contest and apprentice Oliver Carmichael takes off a useful 7lb. Should be fascinating.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
