Lucky 15 Tips: Forest Caper to make Doncaster breakthrough

There are four race meetings across the UK and Ireland on Sunday, with lots of quality action to savour.

The final afternoon of the Betfred St Leger Festival comes from Doncaster, alongside UK meetings from Bath and Musselburgh, while across at the Curragh the second day of the Irish Champions Festival boasts a stunning four Group 1 races. Below are our Lucky 15 tips from Sunday's cards, with the focus on Doncaster and the Curragh.

13:20 Doncaster – Forest Caper @ 13/2

FOREST CAPER has started to make some progress for owners the Horse Watchers and trainer David O'Meara and he could open his account in the opening division of the I Love Julie Parkes Handicap over a mile-and-a-quarter on Town Moor.

He got himself into some traffic woes at Redcar on first attempt at this trip but ran an improved race last time when beaten less than a length over C&D. Nudged up 1lb, there could be more to come from the lightly-raced Lope De Vega gelding.

14:05 Curragh – Joyful Tidings @ 10/3

The Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes looks to have been the plan for JOYFUL TIDINGS for a while.

The A'ali colt made a winning start at Tipperary over 5f in April and was well backed for success. He handled the easy ground well and came away to win nicely for trainer Gavin Cromwell under Gary Carroll.

That form has been advertised nicely by the second, winner of his next two starts including a Listed contest back over the same C&D at Tipperary in July.

The money was down first time out and, after a break, the top prize here of €138,000 is the next target.

16:10 Doncaster – Queen Of Mougins @ 9/2

Irish trainer Adrian Murray is having a crack at the Japan Racing Association Sceptre Fillies' Stakes with QUEEN OF MOUGINS.

She was a length third 12 months ago in this Fillies' & Mares' Group 3 over 7f when trained by Ralph Beckett.

She joined Murray's set up at year end and was back from 266 days off when scoring in a Curragh handicap off a mark of 101 last month. The Ten Sovereigns filly may have improved again from three to four and will have no issues going back up to 7f or on the likely soft ground.

17:18 Doncaster – Bona Fortuna @ 8/1

BONA FORTUNA has been second-best on his last three starts at Nottingham, York and Epsom over 5f/6f.

He hasn't done a lot wrong and the form of those two most recent races is very solid. Mick Appleby's charge is 1lb lower than last time and looks sure to give his running.

The yard are in excellent recent form, entering the weekend with a 22 percent strike rate and a +23.50 profit to level stakes with their runners at Doncaster so far in 2025.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
