Horse Racing Tips: Militaire to fire

There are three meetings taking place across the UK and Ireland on Sunday afternoon. The action kicks off at the Curragh with the opening day of the Irish flat season, then two National Hunt meetings begin at Market Rasen and Chepstow.
Among our Sunday fancies is one for trainer Warren Greatrex who has been progressing nicely over fences chasing and could have more to come now stepped up in distance.
Horse Racing Tips - Sunday, March 16
15:02 Chepstow - Militaire @ 3/1
Eight-year-old MILITAIRE is lightly raced for his age with only nine starts to date and he looked to be mildly progressive over hurdles two seasons back.
That campaign was curtailed through injury and he was off the track for 678 days before returning over hurdles in December. That was not the best of returns but his last two efforts, both over fences, have been much more promising.
His fourth at Doncaster in January was a pleasing chasing debut. He was not beaten that far and the form of that was subsequently franked by the second, third and fifth horses home that day. Then he stepped forward again when going down by a length at Ffos Las last month.
Those two efforts were over 2m3f and 2m4f so today's step up to near 3m poses another question, but he should be fine with it judged on breeding and if continuing his progression he can be expected to go close here.

15.37 Chepstow - Blue Las @ 3/1
Keep an eye on BLUE LAS for Neil Mulholland. Having won two of her three bumpers last season she has transferred that potential over hurdles this term.
First time up at Ffos Las she was six lengths second to a decent mare of Ben Pauling's who ran well in the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham on Friday. She then went one better next time when bolting up over 2m again at Ffos Las.
She was plunged into deeper waters last time out, contesting a Grade 2 at Sandown where she ran with credit again, not beaten far back in third. A mark of 121 looks fair and she brings unexposed potential on her handicap debut.

16.32 Market Rasen - Moonlit Potter @ 5/1
Henry Daly’s MOONLIT POTTER showed plenty of promise in four runs last season, a bumper and three over hurdles, but the trainer wasted no time in sending the mare chasing this time around.
Her season almost got off to the perfect start when narrowly beaten on her handicap debut at Huntingdon. Since then things have not gone to plan in two runs, as she made a mistake at Hereford before pulling up, then was well beaten back at Huntingdon in January.
She has something to prove after those efforts but she is unexposed over fences and still has time to fulfil that early promise. She returns from a mini break with her trainer in much better form, which increases confidence, and Sam Twiston-Davies on board, who has a good record riding around Market Rasen.
