Horse Racing Tips: Genealogy looking to shed maiden tag over jumps

Jumps racing holds sway across Britain and Ireland on Sunday with meetings taking place at Sligo, Perth and Stratford, while there is also an all-weather card from Dundalk.

Among our Sunday fancies is one for trainer Faye Bramley who will be looking to build on a solid effort from last time out. Check out my Horse Racing Tips below.

14:00 Dundalk - Ipanema Queen @ 11/4

A consistent type, Ipanema Queen has run well this season without much success. Her last win came in October over this course and distance and her form since then, while lacking in successes, has been fairly solid.

She finished some way back in a Listed race in May, but since dropping back into handicaps she has been much more at home with a solid fourth at the Curragh in early June and then sixth at Royal Ascot in the Palace Of Holyroodhouse.

What was most eye-catching about that Royal Ascot effort was they went at a very strong pace throughout and even though she hung right in the closing stages, she kept on against some classy performers and was the first filly home.

She has a good record at Dundalk with a win and a second place in her two runs at the course and this looks to be calmer waters in comparison to the races she has been running in recently. She should go well again.

15:35 Stratford - Genealogy @ 7/4

A dual-purpose horse, Genealogy has shown he has some ability over hurdles in his four runs so far. A runner-up twice, he ran well for his new connections last time out, but had some excuses for not winning.

He was sent off as a short-price favourite and led through most of the race and looked to be doing enough. However, he was headed jumping the last and faded in the closing stages, although that was explained away by the vet, who revealed after the race that Genealogy had bled from the nose.

He has had a wind operation since which, if it has had the desired effect, could help bring him on a bit here. He has a bit more experience than some of his rivals and that should stand him in good stead as well.

15:51 Perth - Parisencore @ 5/1

Another consistent type, Parisencore has run well this summer with a win and a second place in his last three outings and he will be looking to continue that good form here.

A win in April at Newcastle was followed up with a disappointing fifth at Aintree in May, but following that latter run he had a wind operation and it looked to have the desired effect as he finished second last time out at Hexham.

On that occasion he ran prominently but was outpaced at the last and finished some way back from the winner. However, it was a decent effort and one he can build upon.

The step up to three miles is a move into the unknown, however, he is a strong galloper and a sound jumper. Having won twice at two-and-a-half miles it is plausible that he takes to the new trip well and it could be what he needs to get back to winning ways.
