Horse Racing Tips: Familiar Dreams to shine for Elliott at Galway

There is no shortage of racing action on Monday as the Galway Races sparks into action at Ballybrit amongst five meetings across Britain and Ireland.
It's a mixed card at Galway, while they race on the Flat at Ayr, Yarmouth, Windsor and Southwell (AW) in Britain on a Monday with 34 races to take in from 14:00-21:00. Below are my three Horse Racing Tips from across Monday's card, including one for Gordon Elliott at Galway.
Horse Racing Tips - Monday, July 28
- 18:40 Galway - Familiar Dreams @ 17/2
- 19:05 Windsor - Heaven Knows @ 5/1
- 20:00 Southwell - Daytona Lady @ 16/1

18:40 Galway - Familiar Dreams @ 17/2
Like most of the rest of Ireland's training hierarchy, Gordon Elliott will be hoping to hit the target on day one of the Galway Races and the Cullentra handler looks to have a solid chance with FAMILIAR DREAMS in the Connacht Hotel (Q.R.) Handicap over two-miles-and-one-furlong.
The Postponed mare won four bumpers for her previous trainer Anthony McCann in 2024 and beat Winter Fog in a Tramore Flat race last summer after joining this handler.
She's spent her time hurdling since and to good effect, winning a Grade 3 novice at Limerick over 2m6½f in March before showing up well in Grade 1 company at Aintree and Punchestown over three-miles afterwards.
Now she makes her handicap debut on the Flat from what looks a workable mark of 93 back from a short break.
She has Josh Williamson claiming a very useful 7lb in the saddle and looks well placed with her proven stamina a major asset for the Galway test.

19:05 Windsor - Heaven Knows @ 5/1
Rae Guest sends his filly HEAVEN KNOWS to the familiar surrounds of Windsor for this 6f sprint handicap. She's 0-5 on turf, but did shed her maiden tag on the Polytrack at Chelmsford in May over this trip.
She wasn't beaten far on handicap bow here the following month under a patient ride from Callum Shepherd, in a contest where the main protagonists were always close to the pace.
Most recently she was worn down late on by Emperor Caradoc at Nottingham in a contest that has produced two next-time-out winners from the horses that finished behind her.
She's rated 1lb higher now, but has Connor Planas taking off 3lb in the saddle and looks set to be a key player.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
20:00 Southwell - Daytona Lady @ 16/1
DAYTONA LADY is a dual course and distance winner at Southwell for Ruth Carr, including landing this race a year ago off a mark 1lb lower than she operates from now.
The five-year-old has been hit and miss at times in 2025 and is now nine starts without a win since obliging at Wolverhampton in September.
Her penultimate start at Wetherby gave rise to the idea her turn should come again soon and she was too keen since at Kempton when fading late on a course that has never really witnessed her best in three runs.
She's much more consistent here and returns rated 6lb lower than when going very close in a Class 4 event in November on her most recent trip to this Nottinghamshire venue.
