Horse Racing Tips: Godolphin runner to build on strong debut

A busy day of racing awaits across the UK and Ireland on Friday, with eight meetings taking place starting in the afternoon and running through the evening. The action gets underway at Killarney, followed by meetings at Wolverhampton, Nottingham and Newbury. Attention then turns to four evening fixtures at Down Royal, Newmarket, Hamilton and Pontefract.
Among our Friday fancies is a smart-looking Godolphin runner for Charlie Appleby who shaped with plenty of promise when making an impressive debut. He looks a potentially high-class prospect and could develop into a Group-level performer with further improvement.

15:18 Wolverhampton - One Of The Boys @ 7/4
Michael Bell’s three-year-old, One Of The Boys, made an encouraging debut against more experienced rivals when finishing second behind Richie’s Rocket at Lingfield as a two-year-old.
The son of Sioux Nation was not seen again until his first start of the season at Kempton in July, a race where he finished third. He looked the likely winner a furlong out but got tired late on after his lengthy absence.
He should come on significantly for that run and can reverse the form with Korbu, who finished second that day but looks more exposed. One Of The Boys can continue to improve and get off the mark at the third attempt.

16:10 Newbury - Nabati @ 5/4
There are some strong pieces of form on show for this Newbury offering, with A Bear Affair and Social Symbol both bringing solid credentials, the latter finishing fourth behind Orthodox at Royal Ascot. However, preference is for Godolphin’s two-year-old Nabati.
The son of Night Of Thunder was an 850k guineas yearling purchase and looked a highly professional performer on debut, travelling strongly before cruising into the lead and putting the race to bed in a matter of strides.
Charlie Appleby has been among the winners lately, and while Nabati will need to improve to come out on top in this, he looks a potential Group horse in the making and is expected to maintain his unbeaten record.

17:55 Newbury - Turty Tree @ 2/1
Turty Tree has improved with each of his first three starts, which included a promising third behind the exciting Water To Wine at Newbury.
He disappointed next time at Newmarket when finishing fourth of five, but bounced back to get off the mark at the fifth attempt at Sandown.
Andrew Balding reached for cheekpieces that day, and although he showed he can be a little quirky when ducking left around the bend, he knuckled down well to record his first victory.
With that win now under his belt, it would be no surprise to see Turty Tree follow up on handicap debut, especially with the in-form Oisin Murphy taking over in the saddle.
