Chesham Stakes 2025 Tips: Two picks for Saturday’s opener

Day five of Royal Ascot is upon us and it boasts a cracking Group 1, as well as some tough handicaps on a card of real quality.
The Chesham Stakes is a Listed contest set to be run over seven furlongs and it will have fans of Flat racing excited, with a highly regarded Ballydoyle debut winner amongst the contenders, while Charlie Appleby and Andrew Balding are some of the other Flat mainstays with an interest. The Chesham Stakes is due off at 14:30 and Betfred is the place to bet on the contest. Below are my Chesham Stake 2025 tips.

Moments Of Joy @ 6/4
The Leopardstown maiden that Moments Of Joy won in early June is a race that has thrown up Chesham winners in the past, notably September in 2017 and Bedtime Story last year, who were both trained by Aidan O'Brien as well.
A daughter of Justify, Moments Of Joy is a half-sister to four winners, including United Front, who had a peak Racing Post Rating of 110, while her dam was Group-placed. She has a nice mix of speed and stamina in her pedigree.
Sent off at odds of 3/1 for her debut at Leopardstown over the extended 7f, she was the mount of Wayne Lordan on the day as Ryan Moore had opted to ride the odds-on favourite and stablemate, Minerva.
Minerva disappointed in third on the day but Moments Of Joy delivered. She broke away smartly and travelled well within herself throughout the contest, before seeing off a Henry de Bromhead-trained runner by half a length at the winning post.
She should come on a bucket for the run and I'm more than happy to take on Godolphin's Treanmor here. Charlie Appleby's runners aren't in great form at Royal Ascot this week and it would be no surprise to see the selection go off as favourite.

Humidity @ 11/2
It might be brave not to put up Treanmor as the next best after the son of Frankel created a huge impression on debut, but with the form of Appleby a concern, Humidity rates as the each-way bet in the contest.
Wathnan Racing have had a terrific week at Royal Ascot and this is a full brother to Holloway Boy, who of course won this contest for Karl Burke in 2022 at a surprise starting price of 40/1.
Trained by Andrew Balding, Humidity stuck to his task well when narrowly winning at Newbury on debut last month. It's a race that has already thrown up a good few winners and certainly looked like a very strong 6f maiden.
Humidity is bred to be better as he steps up to 7f and a mile and his 120,000gns price tag could turn out to be a bit of value once all is said and done. He is another fascinating contender.
