Brighton Tips: Libra Tiger may roar to victory

There are five meetings across Britain and Ireland on Wednesday, with a mixture of jumps and flat action to take in from Nottingham, Wetherby, Punchestown, Worcester and Kempton.
Among our fancies is one for John and Thady Gosden, who should be suited by a return to the Polytrack at Kempton.
Brighton Tips - Thursday, October 16
- 16:05 - Thundering Breeze each-way @ 11/2
- 16:40 - Otago each-way @ 12/1
- 17:15 - Libra Tiger each-way @ 5/1

16:05 - Thundering Breeze each-way @ 11/2
We have to wait until the third-last race for our first selection but the reward is a boosted four places being paid out each-way, opening the door for a punt on Thundering Breeze.
It is a competitive 14-runner contest, with last-time-out winners Mc’ted and Birthday Angel likely to head the market, but the 1m2f distance is key as Thundering Breeze remains unexposed over the trip.
The daughter of Dark Angel struggled over shorter trips early in her career and a last-place finish on her first run over 1m2f spelled trouble over further, too. However, that came on heavy ground and she was much bet on Lingfield’s all-weather last time, finishing third.
She represents a top yard - Gary and Jamie Moore’s, to be exact - and there is certainly scope for improvement.

16:40 - Otago each-way @ 12/1
The following race brings another extra-place treat, making Otago, who is likely to go off at a double-figure price, one to back each-way.
Five course-and-distance wins include two in this exact race in 2023 and 2024, giving him the experience over his rivals, and a falling mark makes him dangerous again.
A disappointing 2025 means he is now 2lb lower than his last winning mark of 60 and that makes him a real threat from stall three, where he should get space to make the most of the strong turn of pace he still possesses.

17:15 - Libra Tiger each-way @ 5/1
The final race on the card and at Brighton this year sees 10 runners battle it out over 51/2f. There are no extra places up for grabs but three should be enough for Libra Tiger to make the frame.
The son of Territories bounced back from consecutive last-place finishes by coming second to Alshimali over course and distance in August and, having avoided a weight increase for that effort, he could reverse the form.
Alshimali has gained 5lb since that summer success and, with both rivals on a mark of 55, that may tip the balance in Libra Tiger’s favour.
