There are some cracking games in store this weekend in the Championship, notably the East Anglian derby as Norwich City welcome bitter rivals Ipswich Town to Carrow Road. There is a huge game in west London as Queens Park Rangers host Sheffield Wednesday, while Huddersfield Town entertain Millwall.

We're back once again with our weekend EFL Championship predictions, and after seeing three out of four come in on Good Friday, I'm hoping that this time around I can clean up and go four-for-four.

Weekend Championship Tips

  • Josh Sargent to score anytime in Norwich City vs Ipswich Town @ 13/8
  • Adam Armstrong to score anytime in Blackburn Rovers vs Southampton @ 5/4
  • QPR to beat Sheffield Wednesday @ 10/11
  • Both teams to score - Yes in Middlesbrough vs Swansea City @ 4/6

Josh Sargent to score anytime in Norwich City vs Ipswich Town @ 13/8

We're sure every neutral EFL fan will be looking forward to this contest on Saturday, maybe not the supporters of these two clubs as the nerves will be kicking in as the game draws near. Ipswich find themselves at the top of the table after their last-gasp win over Southampton on Monday, and you started to believe that this is in fact their year.

However, rivals Norwich will want to put a dampener on things this weekend on derby day, where as they say, all form goes out the window. They played a gripping 2-2 draw at Portman Road earlier in the campaign, and we think there could be more goals in store in this historic rivalry.

Canaries striker Josh Sargent has been in stunning form this year, despite missing months through injury. The American international has mustered 13 goals in the Championship so far and he will want to grab one against Norwich's bitter rivals.

Josh Sargent to score anytime at 13/8

Adam Armstrong to score anytime in Blackburn Rovers vs Southampton @ 5/4

Another player we are expecting to score this weekend is Adam Armstrong. The Southampton striker returns to familiar surroundings this weekend as the Saints head to Ewood Park to face Blackburn Rovers. Armstrong spent three years as a player there and Saturday's return will be bittersweet for him

Following their defeat to Ipswich, Southampton have given themselves more work to do in their bid for automatic promotion and they will look for a response at Rovers. The forward has netted 20 goals this season and only Blackburn's Sammie Szmodics (23) has scored more.

Rovers will be feeling jubilant after their huge win at Sunderland on Monday, but they will be taking on a team far superior here and Armstrong could be about to haunt his old side.

Adam Armstrong to score anytime at 5/4

QPR to beat Sheffield Wednesday @ 10/11

What a job Marti Cifuentes has done at QPR. He may have been overlooked for the end of season awards, but we know he's been exceptional. The Rs looked dead and buried when he took over and now he has them 16th in the table, six points above the relegation zone.

They have been playing the best football of the teams at the bottom of the table for weeks but now they're getting the results to go with it, having just won back-to-back clashes with rivals Birmingham City and Swansea City.

Next up for them is a team that they have spent much of the season sat next to in the table, Sheffield Wednesday. The Owls looked like they were making great strides towards their own survival push but they have failed to win in their last four, and are now two points away from safety.

Momentum is with the hosts here and a victory on Saturday would look to pretty much guarantee their safety, to which Cifuentes cannot be given enough praise.

QPR to win at 10/11

Both teams to score - Yes in Middlesbrough vs Swansea City @ 4/6

Middlesbrough have been a weird team this season. Last year's play-off semi-finalists have been consistently inconsistent but they still just find themselves six points outside the play-offs. No one is expecting them to get there this time around, though, because of their constant blowing hot and cold.

They haven't been as potent in attack as they were a year ago and conceding goals has been a big issue too. They welcome Swansea City to the Riverside Stadium on Saturday, who themselves have endured a rather disappointing season.

Both are susceptible to conceding goals so the safe bet for this contest would be to back both teams to score. It may be a low-scoring affair but we think that there will be goals at both ends in this one.

Both teams to score yes at 4/6
