Valencia vs Las Palmas Prediction: Los Che to win battle of the strugglers

Two struggling sides will meet in La Liga on Monday night, as Valencia face off against bottom-of-the-table Las Palmas at the Mestalla.
It has been a tough start to the season for Los Che, who went into this round of fixtures sitting inside the relegation zone, but they have shown signs of improvement over recent weeks, losing just one of their four games directly before the international break.
Las Palmas have enjoyed no such upturn, taking just a solitary point from the last 18 available, a run that led to the departure of manager Luis Carrion, with his replacement, Diego Martinez, set to take charge of his first game on Monday night. Below you can find my Valencia vs Las Palmas prediction.
Valencia vs Las Palmas Betting Tips
Team news
Valencia have a quartet of absentees for this fixture, with Rafael Mir (thigh), Jesús Vazquez (muscle), Jaume Domenech (Achilles) and Mouctar Diakhaby (knee) all still sidelined.
Las Palmas remain without goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen (knee) and defensive duo Mika Marmol (foot) and Marvin Park (hamstring) for this trip, while winger Alberto Moleiro (knock) and forward Sandro Ramirez (muscle) are rated as doubts.
Valencia are the 4/6 favourites to pick up all three points, while Las Palmas are 9/2 to claim their first victory of the season. The draw is available at 11/4.
Hugo Duro, who has struck twice in the league this season for Valencia, is 7/2 to open the scoring on Monday ahead of team-mate Dani Gomez, who is 9/2.
Valencia to win to nil @ 13/10
Valencia's slow start to the season is no real surprise, as they picked up only two points from their final seven matches of last term, but they do appear to have turned a corner, losing just once in their last four matches and keeping clean sheets in three of those games.
That has eased some of the pressure on the shoulders of head coach Ruben Baraja, who will be hopeful his side can register a win and a clean sheet on Monday, given that the hosts have triumphed in their last three meetings with Las Palmas at the Mestalla without conceding.
Las Palmas could certainly be the ideal opponents for Valencia, with their new manager Martinez facing a challenge to lift the only winless side in La Liga, who have not picked up three points on the road since January, a run of 12 games.
Having scored just three goals on the road this season, it could be another long trip back to Gran Canaria for Los Amarillos, who may struggle to score in this game, never mind avoid defeat.

Over 10.5 corners in the match @ 7/4
Despite these two sides languishing in the lower reaches of La Liga, they have both, perhaps surprisingly, won more than their fair share of corners this season.
Both teams are averaging more than five corners per game and Valencia's tally of 51 was the same as Real Madrid heading into this weekend’s action.
Las Palmas are only slightly behind Valencia's corner count, winning 47 to date, which going into matchday 10 was the eighth-best tally in La Liga, not bad for a side propping up the standings.
All that indicates that both sides could chalk up plenty of corners on Monday, so backing 11 or more in the match could be the way to go.
