Team News

Chris Richards is doubtful for the USA due to an ankle injury, but the likes of Christian Pulisic, Weston McKennie and Tyler Adams should be good to go again after last weekend’s 3-2 victory over Senegal.

World Cup Odds

As for Germany, Deniz Undav could be rested after appearing to feel pain in his leg against Finland last weekend, when he bagged a brace.

Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musial also scored in that 4-0 win, and both should feature on Saturday.

Kai Havertz could play, too, after missing out against Finland due to Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League final, which they lost on penalties to Paris Saint-Germain.

USA vs Germany Predicted Lineups

  • USA: Turner; Freeman, Ream, McKenzie; Dest, McKennie, Adams, Robinson; Reyna, Pepi, Pulisic
  • Germany: Baumann; Kimmich, Tah, Schotterbeck, Brown; Goretzka, Pavlovic; Karl, Wirtz, Leweling; Woltemade

USA vs Germany Odds

USA are 7/2, or a 22.2% chance, to win, with Germany 3/5, implying a 62.5% probability of success, and the draw offered at 16/5.

USA vs Germany Stats

  • McKennie (USA) has 12 goals in 65 caps
  • The Juventus midfielder struck nine times for the Old Lady in 25/26
  • Havertz (GER) has 21 goals in 27 caps

Anytime Goalscorer - Weston McKennie (USA) @ 9/2

For a value pick, I'd look no further than Juventus midfielder McKennie, who has become a surprise source of goals for his club side.

The 27-year-old struck nine times for the Old Lady in the 2025/26 campaign, with four of his goals arriving in the UEFA Champions League.

McKennie has 12 goals in 65 senior appearances for the USA, and while only one of those has been scored since the start of 2024, despite him accruing 16 caps in that period, it did arrive earlier this year in a friendly with another big-hitter on the international stage, Belgium, who thrashed the Stars and Stripes 5-2 on 28 March.

Last Goalscorer - Kai Havertz (GER) @ 9/2

I think it's unlikely Havertz starts on Saturday, following his late link-up with the squad, with a second-half introduction more probably.

That, then, makes him a viable candidate in the Last Goalscorer market.

The 26-year-old suffered one of the most agonising moments of his career last weekend as his Arsenal side were beaten on penalties in the Champions League final by PSG, but he could take solace from the fact that he opened the scoring in the sixth minute with a superbly-taken effort.

Havertz ended the campaign by scoring in his final three starts, so he should be full of confidence heading into the World Cup.

The Gunners forward has a good goalscoring record at international level, netting 21 times in 57 senior caps, and seven of those strikes have come in 15 games since the start of last year.
