It’s two from nine to go down from the Championship with Rotherham and strugglers Swansea and Stoke are very much in the mix.

Just one point separates these sides and if either can win at the Swansea.com Stadium on Wednesday evening it would all but secure their Championship status for another season. Below is our Swansea vs Stoke prediction, featuring team news and betting odds.

Swansea vs Stoke Prediction

  • Stoke City to win @ 15/8
  • Andre Vidigal any time scorer @ 11/4

Team News

Left-back Josh Tymon limped out of Swansea’s shocking 2-0 loss at Middlesbrough. Centre-back Bashir Humphreys or midfielder Azeem Abdulai could slot in should Tymon be ruled out.

Ryan Mmaee impressed for Stoke at the top of Steven Schumacher’s 4-2-3-1 system in the 2-2 draw against West Brom, but limped away and will be assessed. Tyrese Campbell and Niall Ennis are standing by.

Match Odds

Swansea haven’t beaten Stoke in their previous five meetings and are 13/10 - or a 43.5% chance - to snap that sequence. Stoke are a 15/8 shot.

It was a 1-1 draw when the sides met in the Potteries earlier this season and the draw is available at 21/10. Another 1-1 scoreline is a 5/1 chance.

Stoke City to win @ 15/8

This is a huge few days for both Swansea and Stoke, who can each be out of trouble by Sunday night if things go well - or even deeper in the mire if they do not.

At the moment the Swans are five points clear of the trap door, Stoke four, and the Welsh side will see this fixture and Saturday’s visit from a wretched Rotherham as the opportunity to end relegation talk once and for all.

Stoke, who go to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, however, are in the better form of the two and get the nod.

The Potters have managed three wins and two draws in their last seven, the pick of which had to be the 2-0 win at Hull, a result that told them they can win anywhere. Indeed their away day before that was at Preston and they won there as well.

They have fought back from half-time deficits to snatch draws against Huddersfield and West Brom in their last two matches, showing a spirit that has to be encouraging.

Swansea, in contrast, have lost five of their last seven at home and the jury remains very defiantly out on new boss Luke Williams, who has overseen a pair of depressing defeats - 1-0 by QPR and 2-0 at Middlesbrough - to leave them in the mess where they find themselves.

Andre Vidigal any time scorer @ 11/4

Portuguese frontman Andre Vidigal turned villain to hero in under a second on Saturday, seeing his penalty saved against West Brom only to net the rebound for the final goal in a 2-2 draw.

That’s six for the season for Vidigal who came off the bench against the Baggies and who is set for a start at the Swansea.com, even if Mmaee is declared fit.

Vidigal is averaging 1.7 shots per game and looked a handful when he came on to help the Potters salvage what could turn out to be a priceless point.
