Swansea City vs Watford Predictions

  • Under 2.5 goals @ 4/5
  • Vakoun Issouf Bayo to score anytime @ 12/5

Swansea City vs Watford Odds

After returning to winning ways at the weekend, Swansea are the 6/5 favourites to pick up all three points on Tuesday, while Watford are 23/10 to make it back-to-back victories on the road. The draw is priced at 12/5.

Goals have not been easy to come by for Swansea this season, but it is 8/11 for both teams to find the back of the net, while home team forward Liam Cullen is the 11/2 favourite to open the scoring in South Wales.

Team News

Swansea head coach Luke Williams is not expected to make wholesale changes for this game, but one player who will miss out is left-back Josh Tymon, who is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Oxford.

Ji-sung Eom (knee), Andrew Fisher (groin) and Josh Ginnelly (Achilles) all remain on the treatment table for the Swans.

Scotland international Ryan Porteous will miss this game for Watford through suspension,  while injured trio Angelo Ogbonna (hamstring), Jeremy Ngakia (unspecified) and Tom Dele-Bashiru (knee) are not expected to recover in time.

Under 2.5 goals @ 4/5

Swansea's underwhelming start to the season has been largely down to a lack of firepower, as their total of 10 goals from their opening 13 games is the lowest of any side in the division.

Prior to their two goals against Oxford, the Swans had failed to score in five matches on the bounce, while the net has bulged no more than twice in 10 of their last 12 games across all competitions.

Watford did run in six against Sheffield Wednesday, but five of those came in a bizarre second half and prior to their trip to Hillsborough, the Hornets had scored just once in their previous three away games.

Both meetings between these two sides last season went under the 2.5 goal mark and a repeat outcome could well be on the cards on Tuesday.

Vakoun Issouf Bayo to score anytime @ 12/5

Watford forward Vakoun Issouf Bayo has not exactly been prolific during his time at Vicarage Road, but if there was ever a time to back the Ivory Coast international to score then it is surely now.

That is because Bayo fired home four of his side's six goals against Sheffield Wednesday, with his quartet of strikes coming in the space of 30 second-half minutes.

The 27-year-old's only other goal this season came against Derby in August, but his confidence should be high and he has previous of scoring in South Wales, as he netted Watford's goal in a 1-1 draw at Swansea's rivals Cardiff last season.
