Swansea City vs Sheffield United Prediction: Big price for big away win

Sheffield United are making moves in the transfer window with Ben Brereton Diaz through the door and the likes of Tom Cannon close to joining him at Bramall Lane. Chris Wilder isn’t messing about when it comes to strengthening his squad and he will hope it pays off as the Blades travel to Swansea City on Tuesday night (19:45, Sky Sports+).
Swansea are still reeling after a humiliating 3-0 defeat at the hands of their nearest rivals Cardiff, and will be looking to bounce back in style against the promotion chasers. Below you can find my Swansea City vs Sheffield United predictions featuring team news and betting tips.

Team News
After back-to-back 3-0 defeats, Luke Williams may have to jolt his side into action with a few changes. Zan Vipotnik could come in to lead the line while Florian Biachini and Kyle Naughton both also came off the bench against Cardiff and could be in line to start.
Cyrus Christie, Myles Peart-Harris and midfielder Jay Fulton may also be called upon as Williams rings the changes, with the from three of Ji-Sung Eom, Liam Cullen and Ronald Pereira all underperforming and at risk of losing their places. Oliver Cooper is a big miss with his injury, while Josh Ginnelly and Kristian Pedersen also remain out until mid-February.
For the visitors, Brereton Diaz should come into the squad to bolster what has been a weak bench for the majority of the campaign. No other new signing has arrived in time to feature here, while Ollie Arblaster, Kieffer Moore and Harry Souttar all remain out injured.
Interestingly, Chris Wilder chose to play Harrison Burrows in the left midfield spot, in front of Sam McCallum at left-back, and it worked a treat as he scored a brace to defeat Norwich City 2-0. He wil surely retain his position in the team after that showing, with Callum O’Hare and Gustavo Hamer operating in free roles behind the striker. Rhian Brewster got the nod v Norwich, but I think Tyrese Campbell is the most likely starter here, with Brereton Diaz likely to be used off the bench.
Swansea City vs Sheffield United Odds
Swansea are priced at 7/4 to win this fixture having won five of their 13 games at home this season, giving them an implied win probability of 36%. Sheffield United meanwhile are priced at 7/5 which seems like a decent price given they have won seven of 14 on the road so far.
A draw can be backed at 2/1, while over 2.5 goals is 11/10 having come in during 48% of Swansea’s game this term, and BTTS is up at 4/5 if fancy both teams to find the net. In terms of goalscorers, Tyrese Campbell is the favourite to open the scoring at 6/1 for the visitors.
Sheffield United to win @ 7/5
"We have to bounce back," Swansea boss Williams said in the build-up to this one. "We have to show some fight and determination.” Unfortunately, they are facing one of the best teams in the league, with Premier League quality littered throughout their squad. That squad is only going to get stronger this month with new additions, and their promotion push seems to be on track.
Swansea will be low on confidence after the derby day defeat, and I think Sheffield United will just have too much for them. Having won 50 per cent of their away games so far, they’ve amassed 25 points on the road, the second-highest total in the division after Burnley. I’m expecting that good run to continue as they show their class against a Swans outfit that are in danger of losing their way.

Swansea City 0-3 Sheffield United @ 22/1
I’m getting increasingly concerned about Swansea’s defence. Although I’m a fan of Lawrence Vigouroux, he has conceded an awful lot of goals lately, with the Swans having conceded 12 goals in their last five games. Up against a team with as much attacking quality as Sheffield United, I think they will be in for another tough afternoon with O’Hare and Hamer pulling the strings.
They’ve lost 4-0, 3-0 and 3-0 in three of their last four fixtures and I can see another heavy defeat to nil incoming here. The price of 22/1 for the Blades to follow this pattern and win 3-0 seems absolutely gargantuan, so I’m more than happy to get on board, and back them to find a handsome away win.
