Saturday Over 2.5 Goals Tips: 54/1 10-Fold from the UK Coupon

Last Saturday we had plenty of postponements but a 0-0 draw between Salisbury and Basingstoke still stopped us from getting a winner.

This week I've decided to get some dice and give them a proper roll by going with a ten-fold accumulator for this Over 2.5 column, priced up just shy of 55/1 looking for a low-stakes winner...

Saturday Over 2.5 Goals Tips:

  • Back Over 2.5 Goals in Blackburn Rovers vs Cambridge United @ 4/7
  • Back Over 2.5 Goals in Newport County vs Eastleigh @ 8/15
  • Back Over 2.5 Goals in Norwich City vs Bristol Rovers @ 8/13
  • Back Over 2.5 Goals in Southampton vs Walsall @ 4/9
  • Back Over 2.5 Goals in Alloa Athletic vs Edinburgh City @ 4/11
  • Back Over 2.5 Goals in Clyde vs Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic @ 4/5
  • Back Over 2.5 Goals in Beaconsfield Town vs Swindon Supermarine @ 4/11
  • Back Over 2.5 Goals in Didcot Town vs Chesham United @ 1/2
  • Back Over 2.5 Goals in Harrow Borough vs Hanwell Town @ 4/9
  • Back Over 2.5 Goals in Radcliffe Football Club vs Workington @ 4/11
  • Overall Odds - 54.59/1

Leg 1 - Blackburn Rovers vs Cambridge United @ 4/7

We start off this insanely mammoth ten-fold Acca with four FA Cup matches and the encounter at Ewood Park is first alphabetically.

No team in the Championship has been involved in more games where three or more goals have been scored than Blackburn Rovers at a mightily impressive 81%.

The visitors are below-average for the same statistic down in EFL League 1, but this is a free-hit type game for both sides and I expect the attacking players to be on top. This is an over 2.5 column but I’d play the Over 3.5 here as well.

Leg 2 - Newport County vs Eastleigh @ 8/15

This FA Cup encounter sees two sides with over 60% in terms of Over 2.5 Goals facing off at Rodney Parade. Neither club will have been delighted at the draw and missing out on a big name but they’ll see it as a fine opportunity to progress to the fourth round.

The home side are 65% for Over 2.5, with the visitors lighting up the National League at 69%. Eastleigh have already won 5-1 and 2-1 in the competition this season and here are their four most recent results, 3-5, 2-1, 4-1 and 4-4. Fair to say, they don’t put ten men behind the ball.

Leg 3 - Norwich City vs Bristol Rovers @ 8/13

The Canaries might not be at Blackburn levels in terms of this statistic in the EFL Championship but only Plymouth sit above them in the table for Over 2.5 apart from the Ewood Park club.

Surprisingly, the Norfolk-based club haven’t hit the mark in four-straight since the 2-2 draw at Portman Road in the East Anglia Derby. A home cup-tie against a team from a division below should give David Wagner’s side all the opportunity they need to score a few.

Leg 4 - Southampton vs Walsall @ 4/9

The rise of Southampton to being promotion-contenders is absolutely galling for this Pompey mush. It was so much more fun watching them ship five at the Stadium of Light and get blown away by Leicester City. Can’t they get back to that? Pretty please?

Apparently not, but on the plus side, they've become a good side to back for Over 2.5 players. They are scoring goals for fun at St. Mary’s having smashed four past Blackburn and five against Swansea City in December, plus a 2-1 victory over Plymouth Argyle.

The new free-flowing Southampton side may not raise a smile in this household but when it comes to writing this column, a home match against a team from EFL League 2 should be a strong play.

Leg 5 - Alloa Athletic vs Edinburgh City @ 4/11

Away from the cup and up in Scotland, Edinburgh City have had Over 2.5 come in for eight-straight games in the league. In games over the holiday period they’ve lost 7-2 at Cove Rangers and Hamilton beat them 2-5 at their place.

Defensively they are shocking and even though Alloa are not the best in front of goal, they should be good for a goal or two and the visitors, despite being bottom, are clearly decent going forward.

Leg 6 - Clyde vs Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic @ 4/5

The last time a league match at New Douglas Park failed to hit the three-goal mark that we are looking for in this column was all the way back at the start of September.

Goals have been on the menu ever-since and the side sitting right at the foot of the Scottish football pyramid have been profitable for this bet so far this campaign.

It is a wee bit surprising that this is the biggest price of this ten-fold considering that record but we’ll see if it can continue.

Leg 7 - Beaconsfield Town vs Swindon Supermarine @ 4/11

I thought about stopping at six-matches but I do love a bit of non-league action and I’ve found four games involving a team with either a woeful defensive record or a fine attacking one.

In this game from the Southern South Premier Division, we have two terrible defences facing off and that very much attracts.

Last week I played Swindon Supermarine in this column for the first time and they came up with the goods in a 4-1 win over a Didcot Town side we’ll talk about imminently.

The away side here have conceded 57 times in 23 matches with the hosts not much better at 47 in 23. Both are letting in more than two goals-per-game. A nice stat for the Over 2.5 players.

Leg 8 - Didcot Town vs Chesham United @ 1/2

Speaking of Didcot Town, they sit 22nd and last in the league table and have seen 56 goals put past their keeper in 22 matches.

On Saturday top-of-the-table Chesham United make the trip to Loop Meadow Stadium and this looks on paper to be one of the biggest mismatches on the coupon this weekend. The visitors have scored more than anyone else in the league and this could be a big away win.

Leg 9 - Harrow Borough vs Hanwell Town @ 4/9

I‘m not sure that I’ve ever put up three matches from the same non-league division outside of the National League before but here we go.

Harrow Borough have conceded just as many goals as Didcot Town and sit just above them in 21st place. Hanwell may be more comfortably positioned in mid-table but their defensive record is nearly as poor, with 49 goals having been scored against them. It should be a high-scorer.

Leg 10 - Radcliffe Football Club vs Workington @ 4/11

We finish up relatively local to me with one of my favourite plays in recent weeks, where Radcliffe have hit the Over 2.5 mark in six-straight matches going back to late November.

They are the top-scorers in the Northern League with 59 from 21 games and on Saturday they face a Workington side who have the worst defensive record in the division, having seen their keeper pick the ball out of the back of his net on no fewer than 55 occasions in 25 matches.

This Over 2.5 feels like a strong play to round this longshot acca off.
