Aberdeen beat Motherwell

Aberdeen suffered a dreadful campaign when finishing seventh, but the Dons have responded well, winning each of their four league games under manager Jimmy Thelin. They enter the weekend joint top of the Premiership with Celtic after winning each of their first four games, scoring eight goals and conceding just two. We’re backing them to continue that form with a home win over Motherwell at Pittodrie.

The Steelmen are no pushovers and travel to the Granite City on the back of two wins. The visitors claimed just one of the first six points available but finally got their season moving with impressive victories over Hearts and St Johnstone. They’ll be tough to beat, but home advantage should be the difference here.

Hibs beat St Johnstone

Hibs haven’t set the heather alight in their opening four matches and return from the international break stuck down in ninth position. The Edinburgh side lost their first two games but improved to draw their next two, and fans hope to see them bank a first win when hosting St Johnstone at Easter Road.

Hibs aren’t exactly a team you can rely on at the minute, but they’re easier to trust than opponents St Johnstone, who lost three of their first four, including each of their previous two games. The Saints have lost each of their last four in all competitions, conceding six goals and scoring just one. Back Hibs for an overdue home win.

Dundee beat Ross County

Dundee are one of only four teams yet to lose in the Premiership so far this season, drawing three and winning one of their previous four starts. That spare victory came against Hearts before drawing 2-2 with both Hibs and St Mirren. Dundee must improve defensively after conceding seven goals, but they’ve scored nine and should have the firepower needed to shoot down Ross County.

The Staggies are 10th in the table without a win to show for their efforts after drawing two and losing their last couple. They may be the home team here, but Ross County has scored just one goal so far and that makes them easy to oppose. Back Dundee to leave Dingwall with all three points.

Falkirk beat Airdrie

We wrap up this weekend’s Scottish football fourfold by dropping into the Championship to support Falkirk at Airdrie. The Bairns are second in the table after winning all four previous games, sitting a point behind early pace-setters Ayr United, who have played a game more. There’s still a lot of football to play this season, but Falkirk look capable of challenging for the promotion places. They certainly have the form to beat Airdrie on the road.

The home team are seventh in the second tier with four points on the board following a win, one draw, and two defeats, scoring three and conceding nine. The locals won’t be easy to beat on their patch, but Falkirk arrive with confidence and merit a place in our accumulator.
