So far this season my record in these Saturday Accumulator Tips columns has been abysmal. I won’t sugarcoat that but it is still early days. With two double BTTS wins already under my belt though, hope springs eternal.

With it being an international weekend, we have to go deep into the football pyramid this week with two games from League 2 and one apiece from the National League North and South…

Saturday Accumulator Tips – 9 September, 2023

  • Back MK Dons to Win in MK Dons vs Notts County @ 13/8
  • Back Swindon Town to Win in Swindon Town vs Sutton United @ 4/5
  • Back Tamworth to Win in Tamworth vs Peterborough Sports @ 4/6
  • Back Aveley to Win in Slough Town vs Aveley @ 13/10
  • Overall Odds – 17/1

We start off this fourfold with a top-of-the-table clash in League 2 where the home side are actually the underdogs. Notts County come in having not lost since an opening day 5-1 rout suffered at Sutton and having only dropped two points since. One note of caution however is that they have only won once on the road and that was at bottom side Doncaster.

MK Dons hurt me last week when they tanked in the second-half at Crewe (although it was a BTTS winner) but they are two-for-two at home in the league. I’m expecting an entertaining game at Stadium MK but feel the 13/8 on offer for the home side is too big of a price to ignore.

We briefly touched upon bottom-of-the-table Doncaster just now and the team right above them are Sutton United. They started the season with that 5-1 thrashing of Notts County but have since lost five straight.

Swindon are unbeaten this season and last time out in front of their own fans, they gave Crawley the right runaround beating them 6-0. No reason not to think they win again and the price of only just below Evens surprises me.

Down in the National League North where Tamworth are rolling with a three-game winning streak having beaten Chorley, Curzon Ashton and Hereford United in their previous outings. They play Peterborough Sports on Saturday afternoon at the Lamb Ground with the visitors having only taken a point from their past three games.

The Lambs’ manager Andy Peaks was delighted with his players’ performance in their 2-1 win on Tuesday and with illness and suspensions hurting them, he hopes to have several players back available for what looks like a potential home win.

Over in the National League South we have 22nd vs 1st and top-of-the-table Aveley are a good price to go on the road to win their seventh game of the season. They are coming off a really impressive 0-1 win at Maidstone on Tuesday night. Not many teams will travel down to the Gallagher Stadium and come away with three points.

Slough have incredibly lost all four of their home games (but won twice on the road) with score lines of 1-2, 1-4, 1-2 and 2-5. Got to fancy Aveley here.
