Real Betis vs Chelsea Prediction: Blues too strong for beleaguered Betis

Chelsea secured their place in next season's Uefa Champions League with a 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest on the final day of the Premier League on Sunday, and with that pressure now removed, they can add silverware to their cabinet with victory over Real Betis in Wednesday’s Uefa Conference League final (20:00, TNT Sports 1).

The Blues can also make history by triumphing in Wroclaw as they aim to become the first side to lift the Champions League, Europa League, Super Cup and Conference League trophies. Giovani Lo Celso is also a doubt, but Youssouf Sabaly and Johnny Cardoso look set to be available after shaking off minor issues.

Nicolas Jackson should be fresh to lead the line, having missed Chelsea's last two league matches through suspension, however, Christopher Nkunku is a doubt, having missed the weekend win at Nottingham Forest.

Injured trio Aaron Anselmino, Wesley Fofana, Omari Kellyman are all absent and Mykhailo Mudryk is still suspended.

Romeo Lavia is ineligible for the Conference League, but Filip Jorgensen, Malo Gusto, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Trevoh Chalobah are all pushing to start the final in Wroclaw.

Chelsea can become the first side to ever win all four Uefa club tournaments in what will be their 13th European final. The Blues have won eight of the previous 12, and they are 9/10 favourites to win inside 90 minutes at the Tarczynski Arena, and 2/5 to lift the trophy.

Real Betis are 7/2, or a 22.2% chance, to produce a shock in normal time, and they are 7/4 to win the tie.

It's 10/11 that there are at least three goals scored before the need for extra time, and 4/5 that both teams get on the scoresheet.

Five wins from their final six Premier League matches secured a place in next season's Champions League for Chelsea, and the in-form Blues can top off their campaign with Conference League glory.

Enzo Maresca's men were warm ante-post favourites to win this competition, and they have eased their way into the final by winning 11 of their 12 matches in the competition proper, scoring 38 goals in the process.

Chelsea have won eight of their 12 final appearances in European competition, and their greater experience of these occasions should stand them in good stead against a Betis side appearing in their first continental decider.

Guided by wily old coach Manuel Pellegrini, Betis should give a good account of themselves, and they are adept at raising their game when faced against an illustrious rival, picking up wins against Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid this term.

They have lost just two of their last 20 games in all competitions, but they have not won since booking their place in this final, and they may find it hard to lift themselves from that mini-slump.

However, both teams have scored in 17 of Real Betis's last 20 matches in all competitions, so they could play their part in a clash which should see Chelsea come out on top.

Real Betis are fancied to get on the scoresheet this week, and in-form forward Antony could be the man to do the damage at a great price.

The Manchester United loanee has enjoyed a new lease of life in Spain and has played a key role in getting Betis to the final.

The Brazilian was on the mark in the 1-1 draw with Valencia at the weekend and has five goals in his last nine outings.

Antony scored in both legs of the semi-final win over Fiorentina, and he can continue his rich vein of form on Wednesday.
