Qpr vs luton town

QPR have enjoyed an upturn in form over recent weeks and they will be seeking a fifth successive home win when they welcome Luton Town to Loftus Road in the Championship on Monday (20:00, live on Sky Sports Football). It is just one defeat in 10 for Marti Cifuentes's side, a run that has seen them ease their relegation fears, and a victory over Luton would move them up to 13th in the standings.

Luton will head into this game having seen their own mini upturn in form come crashing down over recent weeks, as they have lost three on the bounce and four of their last five to sit just two points above the relegation zone. Read on for my QPR vs Luton Town prediction, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

QPR remain without a quartet of players, with Steve Cook, Liam Morrison, Zan Celar and Karamoko Dembele all sidelined, while Lucas Andersen missed the New Year's Day win over Watford with a knock and could sit this one out as well.

Ronnie Edwards is in line to make his debut, however, after joining on loan from Southampton.

Luton will be boosted by the return of full-back Joe Johnson and midfielder Liam Walsh following suspension, but doubts surround Jordan Clark, who was forced off early in the defeat to Norwich last time out.

QPR vs Luton Town Odds

QPR head into the game as the marginal 7/5 favourites to pick up the three points, with Luton priced at 21/10 and the draw 11/5.

It is 10/11 that both teams will find the back of the net at Loftus Road, while Hoops forward Michael Frey is the 5/1 favourite to open the scoring.

QPR to win @ 7/5

QPR's early-season struggles appear to be a thing of the past, as since losing at promotion contenders Leeds in early November they have suffered just one defeat in 10 - a 3-0 setback at Swansea on Boxing Day.

A 3-1 victory over Watford on New Year's Day was their fourth successive home win and they will expect to extend that run to five against struggling Luton, who are among the worst travellers in the division.

The Hatters have lost a staggering nine away matches in a row since winning at Millwall in mid-September, while only bottom-of-the-table Plymouth have accumulated fewer points on the road in the Championship this season.

Having also lost the reverse meeting between these two sides at Kenilworth Road in August, Luton could be set for more away-day misery, with QPR providing plenty of value to pick up all three points.

Jimmy Dunne to score at any time @ 17/2

QPR have been sharing the goals around this season, with no player having scored more than four times in the league.

Frontman Frey has reached that tally, but surprisingly so has centre-back Jimmy Dunne, who has netted in three of his side's last four home fixtures.

After scoring in the 3-0 home success over Norwich in early December, Dunne followed up by netting a late winner against Preston before also notching last time out in the victory over Watford.

The Irishman will undoubtedly be a threat from set-pieces, particularly against a Luton defence that is one of the leakiest in the division, so do not be surprised if he continues his hot streak and gets on the scoresheet again.
