Only Lady Jane Grey's Tudor reign (nine days) was shorter than Spurs' (44). It was an appointment that didn't make much sense at the time when it was announced, and it didn't take long to realise things were not going to work out.
Of his seven games in charge, Spurs won just once, and that was a futile one against Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie following a hammering in Spain. He suffered five defeats, and the last straw was losing a six-pointer in the relegation battle against rivals Nottingham Forest, who won 3-0 in Tottenham's backyard.
From that point, change seemed inevitable.
This is a concerning situation for Spurs as they are at serious risk of dropping down to the Championship. The two managers this campaign - first Thomas Frank, and latterly Tudor - have been unable to paper over the cracks at the club that have been evident for some time.
The board need to get this next appointment right, and it is arguably the most important appointment in Spurs' modern history. A £1bn stadium in the second tier of English football does not bode well given the current Profit & Sustainability regulations.
But there is one clear leading candidate for the role right now...
Roberto De Zerbi @ 4/6
Former Brighton & Hove Albion boss, Roberto De Zerbi, is the current favourite to take the job on. He has been on the market for over a month after leaving Marseille in February, and he was linked with this vacancy following the dismissal of Frank in February.
Reports suggest the Italian is open to joining Tottenham for their survival quest. His brand of football was applauded when he was in the Premier League previously, and De Zerbi led Brighton to their best-ever finish in top-flight football (sixth), as well as their maiden European campaign.

While De Zerbi looks the outstanding choice, there are plenty waiting in the wings looking at Betfred's odds.
Sean Dyche @ 7/1
Never in a million years did I ever think there would come a time when Sean Dyche was the second-favourite for the Tottenham gig - but here we are. In their current predicament, they could benefit from a manager who knows all too well the requirements in a Premier League relegation battle.
Dyche was dismissed from his role at Nottingham Forest in February and Spurs could see him as a viable candidate for the final seven fixtures.
Mauricio Pochettino @ 8/1
To a lot of Tottenham supporters, there is unfinished business with former boss Mauricio Pochettino, who left the club in 2019. Under the Argentine, Spurs were an entertaining team to watch - a stark contrast to what fans have been used to seeing this season. The only thing lacking was silverware, but they did reach a Champions League final.
Pochettino is currently in charge of the USA national team, who are gearing up for a home Fifa World Cup this summer. Right now, I don't see him straying from that role but a Poch return may be something that could gain some legs once the tournament has ended.
Thiago Motta @ 12/1
Former Bologna and Juventus boss Thiago Motta is a surprisingly high entry in the list, but I suppose he is available and has experience at a high level. A lack of experience in the Premier League might work against him, however, and some may see this as the same route down which they went with Tudor.
Robbie Keane @ 14/1
Following two spells at Tottenham as a player, Robbie Keane has an affinity for the club. He is currently in charge of Hungarian side Ferencvaros and has gained recognition for his work there.
I don't think he has the desired experience for the Spurs job in its current form, but this is the sort of appointment that wouldn't raise too many eyebrows if Tottenham are in the Championship next term.
