Match Result - Draw
Here are the list of Bosnia’s past six results - 1-1, 1-1, 0-0, 1-1 (won on Pens), 1-1 (won on Pens), 1-1.
The Swiss haven’t had such an obvious trend but they have drawn four of their past six. Between the two of them, eight of their past 12 matches have ended 1-1.
They are relatively well-matched on paper and I think the draw has to be the expected result on Thursday.
Both Teams to Score - Yes
I don’t need to add much from my previous section. Eight of their past 12 matches between them have ended 1-1. I’m not expecting plenty of goals but one for each team feels about right.
Player 2+ Fouls - Nikola Katić
Player to be Carded - Nikola Katić
I feel like I’m picking on the Schalke 04 man but I had him for 2+ fouls in their opening game and he came through, plus he saw yellow in that match, albeit into added time.
The Swiss front line looks lively and caused Qatar plenty of problems, although none of their defenders got booked. I can see that changing in this one and I like at least one Bosnian defender to see yellow and I’ll take the man who’ll be up against the tricky Breel Embolo to be that player, causing him to miss the final group game.
Player 3+ Shots - Breel Embolo
Player 3+ Shots - Dan Ndoye
Speaking of the Swiss front line, I’ll grant you that Bosnia should be better defensively than Qatar but I still like a couple of players to get shots on goal several times.
Starting with Embolo. I had him for 2+ Shots on Target in their opening match but he let me down, only accounting for one - but on the flip side, he was credited with four shots in total.
The Rennes frontman has notched up three or more in four of his past seven for his country and looked a handful against Qatar. He can hit that 3+ mark again.
Next up is Ndoye. The Nottingham Forest man had a mammoth six shots in their opener with two of them on target. If we go back to Euro 2024, three times out of five he had three or more.
He seems to love tournament football and can have another good outing on Thursday evening.
Player 1+ Shot on Target - Granit Xhaka
The Sunderland man was not credited with a Shot on Target against Qatar despite actually having one. The referee missed the fingertip save to push over a long-range shot, therefore it was only a shot in the record books.
He’s been in great form domestically and we’ve all known about his prowess from long range for many years. If the ball drops to him on the outskirts of the box, you fancy him to at least hit the target and he’ll get opportunities in this one.
