Newcastle vs West Ham Bet Builder Tips: Wilson to haunt the Magpies in 3/1 shot

Time is running out for West Ham United in their quest to avoid relegation from the Premier League. The Irons travel to Tyneside on Sunday to face Newcastle United (17:30 BST, Sky Sports Main Event). The Hammers are two points from safety with two games remaining, so they are arguably in need of two victories to end the season.

Below I have provided my Newcastle vs West Ham Bet Builder Tips, which combine for a 3/1 price.

Draw or West Ham

West Ham were devastated after they had an equalising goal chalked off against league leaders Arsenal last weekend but I think this will fire them up for their trip to Newcastle.

Nuno Espirito Santo and his players know that St. James' Park is no longer the fortress it once was and Newcastle are a side with just one win in six in the Premier League. West Ham may not have a glamorous away record but they are desperate for points, more so than their hosts will be on Sunday.

They were also 3-1 winners when the sides met in East London back in November.

With this in mind, I am confident that the Irons come away with a positive result, so I am covering them in the Double Chance market.

Newcastle vs West Ham Odds

Both Teams To Score - Yes

I like the look of Both Teams To Score - Yes, which makes up the second leg of my Bet Builder. This has been a successful bet in each of Newcastle's past six home games in the Premier League, so I am expecting this trend to continue on Sunday.

Across the Magpies' previous six outings in the top flight (home and away), five of them have produced goals at both ends of the pitch. This has also been a winning selection in 10 of the last 13 meetings between the two sides in the league, including November's clash at the London Stadium.

Newcastle vs West Ham Stats

  • Newcastle have won just 1 of their last 6 league games (D1 L4)
  • Both teams have scored in each of Newcastle's previous 6 home matches in the PL
  • Callum Wilson has scored 3 of his 6 Premier League goals this term from the bench

Anytime Goalscorer - Callum Wilson

Arguably the boldest selection for my Bet Builder, I am backing West Ham's Callum Wilson to score anytime. As a former Newcastle man, I think there is always value in backing an ex-player to haunt his old employers.

The veteran striker has bagged six league goals for the Irons this term, three of which have come from the bench. It was also his effort that was chalked off against Arsenal last weekend, so I think he will be determined to score one that counts on this occasion.
