Manchester City vs Crystal Palace Prediction: Doku to dazzle under the lights

Manchester City face Crystal Palace at the Etihad on Wednesday (20:00 BST, Sky Sports Main Event) in the Premier League as they look to move to within two points of leaders Arsenal. City were comfortable 3-0 winners over Brentford here on Saturday.
Palace travel here after a 2-2 draw at home to Everton as they are currently four matches without a victory in the top flight. Read on for my Manchester City vs Crystal Palace predictions, aided by the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Rodri (groin), Josko Gvardiol (shin) and Abdukodir Khusanov (knock) are ruled out for City through injury.
Pep Guardiola may field a similar XI to the one that defeated Brentford but one change could see Ruben Dias replace Nathan Ake in defence. Marc Guehi should fill the other spot in the heart of the back line as he prepares for his first game against his old side.
Palace are still unable to call upon Evann Guessand (knee), Eddie Nketiah (thigh) and Cheick Doucoure (muscle) due to injury. Borna Sosa's knock will need to be assessed ahead of Wednesday.
Manchester City vs Crystal Palace Predicted Lineups
- Manchester City: Donnarumma; Nunes, Dias, Guehi, O’Reilly; Gonzalez, Bernardo; Semenyo, Cherki, Doku; Haaland
- Crystal Palace: Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Riad; Munoz, Hughes, Wharton, Mitchell; Pino, Sarr; Mateta
Manchester City vs Crystal Palace Odds
City are the 2/9 favourites to come out on top and make it three league victories on the spin against the Eagles.
Palace have drawn three of their previous six outings in the top flight and the stalemate here is marketed at 11/2. The visitors are 11/1 to collect the three points.
Erling Haaland found the net twice in December's 3-0 success at Selhurst Park and he is priced at 6/4 to score two or more on Wednesday night.
Manchester City vs Crystal Palace Stats
- Jeremy Doku has scored 3 goals in his last 2 appearances
- Man City have scored at least 3 goals in 14 league games this term, including their previous 2
- City have scored 3-plus goals in 3 of the past 4 H2Hs in the Premier League
Anytime Goalscorer - Jeremy Doku @ 2/1
Man City winger Jeremy Doku comes into this fixture in good form. The Belgium international has scored three goals across his last two appearances in the Premier League, taking his tally for the campaign up to five.
The Citizens are 13 games unbeaten in the league and nine of them have been victories. They are doing everything they can to try and restore themselves as the top dogs in England but Arsenal's triumph against West Ham United is leaving Guardiola's men a lot to do in their final three games, while they are in need of the Gunners slipping up.
Doku can continue to play his part for City and I think 2/1 (implied probability of 33.3%) is a good price for him to strike for the third successive match.

Home Team Total Goals - Over 2.5 @ 8/11
I think there will be plenty of goals on offer at the Etihad and both teams can play their part to make that happen. I fancy City to come out on top, though, and I see them bagging at least three goals, which they have done in their two most recent outings in the league.
They were also 3-0 winners against Palace in December's reverse fixture, so I think this is another sensible play for Wednesday's contest.
