Liverpool vs Wolves Prediction: Can Wolves avoid hammering?

Liverpool look to have weathered the storm of bad results, and Arne Slot has now overseen three wins in a row in all competitions. It means that Christmas wasn’t quite as rough as it might have been, with the Reds up to fifth before gameweek 18 began.
Next up, they host bottom club Wolves at Anfield (15:00 GMT), looking to keep up this winning run. Below you can find my Liverpool vs Wolves predictions featuring team news and more.

Team News
Liverpool’s record signing Alexander Isak has undergone surgery for his leg fracture and is set to be sidelined for a couple of months. He joins a growing list of absentees including Joe Gomez and Wataru Endo. Conor Bradley and Cody Gakpo are both in contention to feature, however the right-back did not train before Christmas Day.
Florian Wirtz came off with cramp against Spurs but will be fine to start again here, however Dominik Szoboszlai is suspended and Mo Salah is at Afcon with Egypt.
Wolves boss Rob Edwards gave some key updates to his players in his pre-match press conference. “Toti [Gomez] is a no, he's out for a significant period of time with his hamstrings, so it'll be weeks. And Hugo [Bueno] trained today so we'll see how he progresses throughout the next few days, but we're hopeful for him."
Edwards explained that the squad has been stretched physically, explaining they have "had a couple of muscle injuries over the last few weeks", adding that they have been "pushing hard”.
Liverpool vs Wolves Predicted Lineups
- Liverpool - Alisson; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Jones, Chiesa, Mac Allister, Wirtz; Ekitike

Liverpool are just 1/4 to win this game, giving them an implied win probability of 80% according to the numbers. Wolves are 12/1 to find their first win of the season, a draw is 11/2 and over 2.5 goals is 4/9.
Hugo Ekitike is the favourite to score first at 11/4, while other Price Boosts can be found on the link above.
Liverpool vs Wolves Stats
- Liverpool have won their last three games
- Wolves have picked up two points all season
Wolves +2 handicap @ 11/10
I’m going to go against the grain here and back Wolves not to get battered. Will they lose? Probably. Can they only lose by one goal? Absolutely. Liverpool might have been winning games lately but they haven’t slaughtered any opponent.
When you look at their extensive injury list, the fact there is no Salah, Isak or Szoboszlai, I just think they may struggle to create chances against a Wolves outfit that are not going to be adventurous at Anfield.

Curtis Jones to be booked @ 5/1
Curtis Jones has only been booked once this season, which is why we are getting such a massive price on him to find his way into the referee’s notebook. He’s committed six fouls this season, but been fouled 11 times - however with a thin squad right now - I’m expecting him to have to be the anchor in midfield.
I’m not sure on many other selections in this market, so will back Jones to pick up a rare card at a big price.
