Burnley vs West Ham Prediction: Race to the bottom at Turf Moor

Burnley and West Ham United fight it out while hovering above the trap door this Saturday, February 7 (15:00 GMT). Premier League relegation beckons for both sides. Three points at Turf Moor will be pivotal, if one of these sides can walk away with a win.
The Hammers are tentatively swinging again, having won two of their last three. Meanwhile, Burnley are without a Premier League victory since October 26. Keep reading for my Burnley vs West Ham predictions, as, like the 21st-century Kenny Loggins that I am, I take you right into the danger zone.

Team News
Burnley’s Zeki Amdouni and Jack Cullen are both long-term absentees due to cruciate ligament injuries. Winger Mike Tresor, who saw a late move to Lille fall through on deadline day, is carrying an ankle problem.
Jordan Beyer is expected back at the end of the month after recovering from a knee injury. Wales international Connor Roberts is out with a muscle strain.
West Ham welcome new boy Axel Disasi, one of roughly 45,000 players Chelsea have out on loan at the present time. Apparently you’re never more than 10 metres away from a Stamford Bridge cast-off.
The Hammers only have Lukasz Fabianski missing for this one. The former Arsenal shot-stopper’s back injury once again sees him sidelined.
Defender Jean-Clair Todibo serves the first game of his suspension after being sent off in the 3-2 defeat to Chelsea.
Burnley vs West Ham Predicted Lineups
- Burnley: Dúbravka; Tuanzebe, Estève, Humphreys; Walker, Ugochukwu, Florentino, Pires; Edwards, Anthony; Foster
- West Ham: Areola; Wan-Bissaka, Mavropanos, Todibo, Diouf; Bowen, Soucek, Fernandes, Summerville; Pablo; Castellanos
Burnley are priced at 23/10 to notch a rare victory. West Ham are 23/20 to make Turf Moor their happy place with a win. If you fancy the draw, 13/5 is your price.
Both teams to score is currently 4/5 while Hammers forward Callum Wilson leads the scoring market at 7/4 to strike at any time.
West Ham to win @ 23/20
Neither of these teams win particularly often. But Burnley haven’t taken home three points from a game since you swapped Jack Skellington for St Nick in your window. Nuno Espirito Santo’s Londoners have shown signs of life, however.
West Ham beat beleaguered Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 last month before putting Sunderland to the sword 3-1. A 3-2 loss to Chelsea was a setback, with Nuno’s future under the microscope once again.
But I feel the Hammers can deflect that unwanted attention for another week. Burnley are at their lowest ebb and ex-West Ham midfielder Scott Parker, a manager who has never secured Premier League safety despite promoting three sides in his career, is arguably not the man to bail them out of this mess.

Kyle Walker to receive a card @ 16/5
Sometimes you just have to go with the numbers. The former Man City full back is joint second in the Premier League disciplinary table with eight yellow cards from 23 outings this season. Walker has been booked in 34.78% of his league appearances this term.
That sort of record is perhaps an inevitability for an ageing player in a movement-heavy position. Teams know they can isolate the 35-year-old, who usually starts in a wing-back role usually handed to younger, nimbler men. Walker is still a very capable defender, but he is ripe for exploitation in the foul stakes. I reckon he picks up a ninth booking here.
