The Premier League season gets going this weekend and we have a 192/1 fourfold from the 3PM kick-offs for you to have a think about heading into Saturday…

Premier League Accumulator Tips – Saturday 12 August, 2023

  • Back AFC Bournemouth to Win in AFC Bournemouth vs West Ham United @ 7/4
  • Back Luton to Win in Brighton vs Luton Town @ 9/1
  • Back Everton to Win in Everton vs Fulham @ 6/5
  • Back Draw in Sheffield United vs Crystal Palace @ 11/5
  • Overall Odds – 192/1

We start off on the south coast where the home side for some bizarre reason sacked Gary O’Neil after he’d done a tremendous job and kept the Cherries in the top flight. I’m certainly iffy on how they will do this season but they open up taking on a West Ham side who are desperately in need of reinforcements. They appear to be on their way but whether Harry Maguire and/or James Ward-Prowse play on Saturday is unclear.

The addition of Edson Alvarez was confirmed on Thursday lunchtime and all three would certainly add depth and quality to the squad. Who is going to score the goals however is still a big question mark. Bournemouth had a good home record last season and this is the type of game they need to win if they are going to avoid another relegation battle.

Next up comes the leg that really inflates this price as I like the huge upset down at the AmEx. The amount of times teams coming up from the Championship surprise in their top-flight opener is just staggering. So this selection is very much based on gut feel that the Hatters can catch their opponents by surprise. If this game was next month or even next week, I doubt I’d throw it in but on opening day, I’m going for it.

Everton to eke out a victory against Fulham is much more likely according to the odds and even though Sean Dyche hasn’t exactly been able to plunge head first into the transfer market to get his type of player in, what he has been able to do is have a full pre-season. One of the keys for Saturday and indeed their season as a whole will be the fitness of Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The former England striker looks set to start whereas Fulham’s main man Alexsander Mitrovic wants out of Craven Cottage with Spurs the latest club to be linked with the Serbian. This just feels like a tight home win.

Last up I’m plumping for the draw in Sheffield United vs Crystal Palace. I’ve been very impressed with the Eagles since Roy Hodgson has returned to the dugout. The Blades haven’t looked all that in pre-season having lost three of their past four. I fear for their season, certainly with the likes of Sander Berge being sold to a potential relegation rival but on opening day, a draw would be a solid start to the season for both clubs.
