Portsmouth vs Swansea City Prediction: Swans are looking sharp

Portsmouth suffered back-to-back defeats in the post Christmas Day fixtures which both came away from home against Watford and Bristol City. They return to Fratton Park on Wednesday (15:00, Sky Sports+) to face Swansea City.
The Swans will be buoyed for this clash after winning their last two matches against Queens Park Rangers and Luton Town, but they were both on home soil. They will face a challenge on the road but it is one they think they can handle. Below you will find my Portsmouth vs Swansea City prediction, including the latest team news and match odds.
Portsmouth vs Swansea City Betting Tips
Portsmouth vs Swansea City Odds
Portsmouth are 2/1, which carries an implied probability of 33.3%, to win this match, and they have won three of their last four fixtures at Fratton Park. Swansea are valued at 11/8 (42.1%) to make it three wins on the bounce but they have won just four of their 12 away games to date in the second tier.
The draw is available at 12/5 (29.4%) and this result has landed on four occasions at Fratton Park this season.
Both teams to score has been a winning selection in each of Swansea's last four away games and it is priced at 4/6 for Wednesday.
Pompey's Callum Lang has nine goals in the Championship this year and scored four on his last home appearance against Coventry City. He is 13/5 to score anytime on Wednesday.
Team News
Portsmouth are unable to call upon Conor Shaughnessy, Regan Poole, Ibane Bowat, Mark O'Mahony and Kusini Yengi due to injury. O'Mahony had returned to parent club Brighton & Hove Albion for treatment on an oblique muscle issue.
In better news for John Mousinho's side, Jacob Farrell, Jordan Williams and Harvey Blair appear to be close to returning to action, but it seems like the Swansea game might come too soon for them.
After rotating his side didn't work at Ashton Gate, Mousinho could restore the likes of Josh Murphy, Lang, Zach Swanson and Freddie Potts to the starting lineup on Wednesday.
Potts will likely partner Andre Dozzell in the engine room, while Lang and Murphy will resume their familiar attacking posts alongside Matt Ritchie and forward Colby Bishop.
For Swansea, they remain without the services of Joe Allen, Sam Parker, Ollie Cooper, Kristian Pedersen and Josh Ginnelly, who are all confined to the medical bay. Goncalo Franco is set to miss out after suffering a facial injury in the last match against Luton.
Jay Fulton looks to the sensible replacement for him in the middle of the park. Brentford loanee Myles Peart-Harris will be pushing for a start on the South Coast after coming off the bench to score the winner against the Hatters.
Florian Bianchini has been the front man for Luke Williams' side for the last two matches, but Zan Vipotnik will be pushing for a recall against Pompey.
Draw or Swansea and both teams to score @ 13/10
Swansea have won back-to-back games for the first time since early November but they are yet to manage three on the bounce. They will be sensing an opportunity to do that at Fratton Park seeing as their hosts have lost their last two games, but they will also need to be wary.
Portsmouth have not lost in their last four home appearances, and this might instil some confidence back into their play after a disappointing couple of results. I would say the momentum is with Swansea after their recent triumphs but they did come at home. However, they have won two of their last three away trips so they won't be fazed by Pompey's home record heading into this.
Then again, Portsmouth have impressed here recently and if they have a performance like that, then they can certainly cause the Swans a few problems. I think the smartest thing to do here is cover double chance in Swansea's favour with a draw, as right now I think they seem the most likely to come away with the three points out of the two sides.
That being said, Pompey can extend their unbeaten run going if they play like they have been at Fratton Park in recent weeks. But with the way in which Swansea are going right now, I'd say a point might be the best that they can hope for here.
I've boosted the odds with BTTS to score because as I mentioned above, it has struck in each of Swansea's last four away trips. Additionally, Portsmouth have scored 10 goals in their last four home games, so I think we could be treated on Wednesday.

Liam Cullen anytime goalscorer @ 2/1
Swansea attacker Liam Cullen has been wearing his scoring boots of late as his volume of goals has coincided with the improving form of the Swans. Whether he plays as the forward or the attacking midfielder, the Welshman is proving to have an impact in the final third.
He scored a brace in the recent win against QPR and he has six in his last nine outings in the Championship. I think he heads into this game with a lot of confidence and I think he could benefit against a side that have leaked 40 goals already this term.
