The under-pressure boss had a break at the weekend with their game being postponed, but Plymouth head into Tuesday’s clash with Swansea City (19:45) off the back of comprehensive losses to Norwich City and Bristol City. Argyle are dealing with a lengthy injury list which includes goalkeeper Conor Hazard.

Striker Morgan Whittaker is another one of six injuries Rooney has to deal with, while Adam Forshaw is suspended.

Despite their improved displays at home, Plymouth still look vulnerable here and they meet a Swansea side who have built up some momentum, with the visitors unbeaten across their last three matches.
