Osasuna vs Valencia Prediction: Los Che can win on the road

Monday's La Liga offering (20:00) comes from Pamplona, where Osasuna will hope to cut the current five-point gap to themselves and visitors Valencia. European ambitions appear forlorn for both sides given their current mid-table positions and it could be worth siding with the away side at El Sadar.

Valencia have won three of their last six on the road and recent clashes between these two sides haven't gone well for the team hosting.

Osasuna vs Valencia betting tips

  • Half-Time/Full-Time Draw/Valencia @ 7/1
  • Highest Scoring Half – Second Half @ 23/20

Team News

Lucas Torro is available for Osasuna after he missed their win over Almeria due to suspension but Unai Garcia (muscle) and long-term absentee Kike Barja (knee) are missing.

David Garcia could return from injury while Ruben Pena is reported to be over a thigh problem and is in the mix.

Valencia boss Ruben Baraja may be without the services of Roman Yaremchuk and Jose Gaya due to muscular problems and Mouctar Diakhaby remains sidelined with a knee problem.

Sergi Canos is back in contention after injury, although he may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Half-Time/Full-Time Draw/Valencia @ 7/1

Recent meetings between these La Liga rivals don't offer much in the way of promise for Osasuna, with four of the pair's last five meetings won by the away side including Valencia's previous two trips to Pamplona.

Another away-day success for Valencia appeals but it might be worth backing the game to be level at half-time before Los Che strike a decisive blow after the break at bigger odds.

This doesn't appear likely to be a free-flowing encounter. Valencia (33) are the lowest scorers in the top half of the La Liga standings while Osasuna (36) went into the latest round of fixtures as the second-lowest scorers among the top 11 clubs in Spain's top flight.

The success of away teams in this fixture is hard to ignore and while Valencia have won only four road games in La Liga this season, three of those have come in their last six.

Highest Scoring Half – Second Half @ 23/20

Ruben Baraja's visitors have been a model of efficiency lately. Since a 2-2 draw with Real Madrid in early March, Valencia have picked up seven points from a possible 12 despite scoring only two goals.

And prior to Real Madrid scoring four times at El Sadar last month, Osasuna had kept back-to-back clean sheets on home soil.

The first half could be a cagey affair and it wouldn't be a shock if it ended goalless.

Match Odds

Osasuna are 6/5 favourites to claim three points with Valencia 11/4 to land a fourth road success in their seven attempts. The draw is available at 2/1.

A goal-fest seems improbable with over 2.5 goals a 6/4 chance and both teams to score priced up at 11/10.
