Leicester City’s relentless start to the Championship season shows no sign of slowing down as they became the first side in the history of the English second tier to win their first six away games at Swansea City on Saturday.

The Foxes’ 3-1 win in Wales was their 11th from 12 league outings this season and they are already odds-on to win the Championship title and secure a swift return to the Premier League.

Sunderland are the latest side to try and stop the rampant league leaders although they will have to play much better than they have in back-to-back defeats to Middlesbrough and Stoke City if they are to do so.

Leicester vs Sunderland Tips

  • Leicester to win & over 2.5 goals @ 23/20
  • Kelechi Iheanacho to score first @ 4/1

Match Odds

Leicester are 1/2 to record their 12th win in 13 league outings this season against Sunderland, who are 9/2 to become only the second side after Hull to beat the Foxes in the Championship this season.

Over 2.5 goals, something which has copped in five of Sunderland’s six away league games this term, is a 4/6 chance, while it is 8/11 that both teams find the net at the King Power Stadium.

Team News

Kasey McAteer, Callum Doyle, Tom Cannon and Dennis Praet are out for the hosts and could be joined on the sidelines by Yunus Akgun, who limped off late on against Swansea.

Sunderland will be without Dennis Cirkin, Jay Matete, Aji Alese, Corry Evans and Ross Stewart for the trip to the East Midlands.

Leicester to win & over 2.5 goals @ 23/20

Sunderland have invariably done their best work on the road this season, but a trip to a rampant Leicester side looks likely to be beyond them.

The Foxes are a short price to notch a 12th league win of the season on Tuesday night, so backing the hosts to win a match featuring three goals at 23/20 looks the way to go.

Five of Sunderland’s six away games in the Championship have generated at least three strikes while Leicester are averaging 2.16 goals per league game this season.

Kelechi Iheanacho to score first @ 4/1

Nigeria striker Kelechi Iheanacho has invariably had to make do with a place on the Leicester bench in recent matches.

However, it hasn’t stopped him netting in his last four league games and Foxes boss Enzo Maresca must be tempted to start him from the off against Sunderland given the short turnaround from the win at Swansea on Saturday.

Iheanacho has scored the first goal on his last two league starts and looks a decent price to break the deadlock against the Mackems.
