Both Leicester and Leeds were expected to make strong promotion runs after falling into the Championship last season and that has materialised with the Foxes out in front and Daniel Farke’s Whites in third.

Leicester have lost just one of their 14 games, while Leeds will see Friday’s trip to the King Power Stadium as a chance to narrow the gap to Ipswich, who occupy the second automatic promotion place.

So there is plenty at stake and that should lead to an entertaining clash.

Match Odds

Having failed to win just one of their 14 Championship games, it is no surprise to see Leicester at Evens to beat Leeds, who can be backed at 9/4 to claim their fourth second-tier away success of the campaign.

Entertainment is anticipated with over 2.5 goals rated a 4/6 chance while both teams to score is available to back at 4/7.

Leicester forwards Kelechi Iheanacho and Jamie Vardy are 4/1 joint favourites to score the game’s first goal.

Team News

Leicester should be boosted by Yunus Okgun’s availability after injury but the match is set to come too early for Tom Cannon, who has been dealing with a back problem. Wilfred Ndidi is also ruled out.

For Leeds, Joe Rodon has a hamstring injury and is likely to be replaced by club captain Liam Cooper, while Sam Byram and Crysencio Summerville are due to face late tests.

Junior Firpo, Djed Spence and Stuart Dallas are long-term absentees for the Yorkshire outfit.

Leicester to win @ EVS

Leicester are proving themselves to be the strongest team in this season's Championship and they have adapted well to the inevitable departures that greeted their relegation.

A 1-0 home loss to Hull at the beginning of September is the only defeat Enzo Maresca’s team have suffered in their 14 league games this term and they could just hold the edge over Leeds.

Farke has done a good job at Elland Road to pick up the pieces following their fall into the second tier, and they warmed up for this one with a fine 4-1 win over Huddersfield.

However, they had to come from two goals down to win 3-2 at Norwich, which is their only win in their last four away games, and recent defeats at Southampton and Stoke suggest this is a tough assignment in which they may come up short.

#PickYourPunt - Over 2.5 goals, Dewsbury-Hall to score anytime & Vestergaard to be carded @ 12/1

It looks set to be a fervent atmosphere at the King Power and that should lead to a few goals, with Leeds confident that they can make their mark.

Five of the Yorkshire club’s last seven league games have featured more than two goals, so over 2.5 is a strong inclusion as the first element of a #PickYourPunt selection.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has scored five goals this season and had 38 attempts at goal, which is ten more than any of his Leicester team-mates, so take him to score at any time, while giant centre-half Jan Vestergaard has been booked seven times this season and the Dane could pick up another yellow card.
