Back-to-back wins have eased Sevilla's relegation concerns, but with three rounds of fixtures remaining in the 2025/26 La Liga season, there's still work to be done. On Wednesday, Los Nervionenses travel to the Estadio de la Ceramica (18:00 BST) to take on third-placed Villarreal, who have qualified for the UEFA Champions League for a second consecutive campaign.

Below are my Villarreal vs Sevilla predictions, supported by all the latest team news and match odds, as the Yellow Submarine look to complete a season double over their visitors, having won 2-1 at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan last September.

Villarreal vs Sevilla Betting Tips

Villarreal vs Sevilla Odds

Villarreal have won the last four head-to-heads, including September's reverse fixture at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan (1-2), and the Yellow Submarine are 21/20 to extend their victorious run against Sevilla to five games, implying a 48.8% probability of success.

The visitors are 5/2, or a 28.6% chance, to secure their first win at the Ceramica since November 2017, with the draw offered at the same price.

Among Betfred's Price Boosts you can find Villarreal to Win & Both Teams to Score at 3/1 (was 11/4).

Villarreal vs Sevilla Stats

  • SEV have lost their last four away games
  • VIL have won their last six home matches
  • Mourino (VIL) has received 10 yellows and one red in 26 La Liga apps this season

Match Result - Villarreal @ 21/20

Sevilla have won three of their last five games, but all three victories have come on home soil, and they've lost their last four on the road, failing to score in two of those defeats.

Villarreal, meanwhile, are unbeaten in their last five matches (W3, D2), and they've chalked up six consecutive home wins since losing 2-1 to Real Madrid at the Ceramica on 24 January.

Today's Football Fixtures

While Sevilla arguably have more motivation as they seek to avoid relegation to La Liga 2, Villarreal will want to lock up third place as soon as possible ahead of Atletico Madrid, who they host at the Ceramica on the final day of the season, while a second-place finish is still mathematically possible.

The absence of intense pressure on Villarreal could also help their stars to play freely, which could spell bad news for Sevilla.

Only FC Barcelona (54), who have won 18 out of 18 at Camp Nou this season, have picked up more points at home in this season's La Liga than Villarreal (43), with Marcelino's men emerging victorious from 17 of their Ceramica contests (D2, L1), and I'm backing a 15th success on Wednesday against Luis Garcia's side.

Player to Receive a Card - Santiago Mourino (VIL) @ 2/1

I'm surprised to see 10 players handed lower odds in this market than Villarreal right-back Santiago Mourino, with only two, Sevilla duo Jose Angel Carmona (12) and Lucien Agoume (11), picking up more yellow cards between the two teams in La Liga this season.

Mourino has received 10 yellows and one red in 26 appearances (25 starts), earning his most recent booking in the Yellow Submarine's 1-0 loss at Girona on 6 April.

The 24-year-old ranks joint-10th for most fouls conceded in the 2025/26 La Liga season so far with 51, averaging 2.1 per 90.

Sevilla's starting left-winger on Wednesday is likely to be Chidera Ejuke, who is averaging 1.5 fouls won per 90, and the Nigerian has been upended three times across his last two appearances.

The last two right-backs Sevilla have faced, Real Sociedad's Jon Aramburu and Espanyol's Omar El Hilali, have both been booked, and I'm backing Uruguay international Mourino to add his name to the list.
