Having played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg, FC Kairat will be hoping home advantage sees them over the line on Tuesday (16:00 kick-off) when they host Olimpija Ljubljana at Central Stadium.

Kairat manager Rafael Urazbakhtin selected 31-year-old keeper Aleksandr Zarutskiy for the first leg and the experienced shotstopper is likely to retain his place between the sticks for the second leg.

Amirbek Barzabayev and Olzhas Baibek will both miss out on Tuesday’s game due to suspension, while Elder Santana, Joao Paulo and Lika Gadrani are long-term absentees.

As for Olimpija, striker Pedro Lucas Schwaizer and defender Mark Ristic are still out on the sidelines with knee injuries.

Thalisson Charles remains suspended for the visitors following his red card for violent conduct against Cercle Brugge KSV in the Conference League last season.

Kairat are the favourites to claim the win in the 90 minutes on Tuesday at 13/10, while Olimpija are 2/1 to head back to Slovenia with the victory.

A draw is currently 2/1, while Olimpija are 11/10 to win the tie overall, with Kairat at 4/6 in the same market.

Kairat saw little of the ball in Slovenia in the first leg but they did take the lead just before the hour mark thanks to a goal from Dastan Satpaev.

Seemingly happy for Olimpija to have possession for large periods, expect Kairat to perform similar tactics on Tuesday and try to hit the visitors on the break.

Kairat have an excellent home record, with Urazbakhtin’s side winning 11 of their last 12 matches at Central Stadium across all competitions.

With a strong record in Uefa Champions League qualifying on their own patch in Kazakhstan, Kairat are good value to win this one inside the 90 minutes.

The first leg was a cagey affair in the Slovenian capital and neither side will be looking to give anything away in the first half in Almaty this week.

Both goals in the first leg were scored in the second half and it would be little surprise to see it being all square at half-time again on Tuesday.

Kairat will look to soak up pressure from Olimpija and hit them on the counter attack and the decisive goal might well come in the second 45.
